Great place to stay. Very clean, great location next to down town Austin. The only thing I would change is a TV in the bedroom.
“A nice first impression of vacation rentals”
What can I say? I took a chance and got away from hotels for a change. First off, the location/price combo is an exceptional deal. I had no idea that I wanted to hang out, nearly the entire time, from here to 43rd street. I stayed a week, didn't need to drive, and I'm kicking myself for renting a car for the week. By the way, I noticed a Zipcar lot on 45th. Almost everything I needed was within walking distance, in a friendly neighborhood. This unit has lots of new or newer fixtures. This is the first time I've ever said this: Yes, IKEA can be assembled and work great! For the rest of the house, there is ample walk-in closet space for upwards of four people, the plumbing works great, there's plenty of outlets, and it's a comfy space to work in. As you check-in and enter, the Welcome Binder pretty much has the important info you need. A few friendly tips: If you decide to park here, a compact car would definitely be easier because you'll have to enter from an alley off 40th, into a tight little parking lot. The place is close to the brightness of the photos, just be sure to let the sunlight in and use the overhead lights. Lastly, this is a shoes-off place. Overall, I had a productive and relaxing week and that sums up this review!
“Perfect for our situation”
My wife and I were in austin for our daughter's wedding, the venue for which was near the university, so the location of this rental worked out very well for us. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the time we spent in residence, while appreciating that there is so much to see and do within a reasonable distance that experiencing the city is quite doable. Pete was very friendly and his expressed willingness to assist and/or advise us made feel even more at home.
“Great place and great neighborhood!”
The owner, Pete, was very friendly and helpful! Our home was very clean and fresh. It was in a great location! Several food options and a bus stop within walking distince. The home and neighborhood felt private and safe. We would stay here again for sure!
What a delightful stay! The apartment was immaculate, beautifully decorated, warm and had everything needed for a home away from home. Great kitchen, comfortable bed ... all good! It is situated in a gorgeous part of austin and a lovely place to walk around. Having supermarkets and local restaurants walking distance made life very easy! It was also easy to get to whatever else austin has to offer from there. We had a ball. Pete was always most helpful. We'll be back! Thanks Pete. I didn't want to leave!
Spacious, comfortable apartment that's nicely decorated, clean, and well maintained. Loved it.
“cozy and comfortable”
My boyfriend and I stayed in this very comfortable home over the holidays. It's located in a nice, quiet neighborhood and so close to downtown...perfect place for couples. It's immaculate and has the kitchen essentials so you can stay in for meals. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others as well.
“Great Value in Hyde Park”
The guest house has been nicely updated as is shown in the photos. The kitchen is outfitted so you can cook which we did for basic meals. Both the bathroom and the walk in closet are very spacious with a lot of room for hanging clothes, storing luggage, etc. Great internet connection and cable TV. We also appreciated having access to laundry. The neighborhood is convenient to UT and downtown with restaurants, coffee shops and groceries all within walking distance. Bus and bike routes run through the neighborhood. Drive times into downtown range between 10-20 minutes traveling on city streets. My husband and I are traveling so when we need to "come home" to austin we now check this owner's listings first. This trip was one of four we've done with Pete and are very pleased with his professionalism and the quality of his rental units. We previously stayed in the studio unit next door but preferred having the separate bedroom on this visit. Pete's rentals are a great value if you don't absolutely need to be downtown.
“Quiet, Clean, Great Location!”
We stayed here for 4 nights during the Usgp. The place was very clean, had plenty of space (and a large closet) and nicely furnished. The location makes it easy to catch a cab or public transportation, and is just a few minutes from Downtown austin.
“Our home away from home”
Pete was very accommodating to us. We loved the house - there was even a fresh bouquet of flowers on the kitchen table for us. The house was very fresh, clean and comfortable, nice furniture, dishes, etc. everything we needed was available. The location was perfect and we enjoyed walking the neighborhood. There is a golf course close by as well as many places to eat. If we visit again we wouldn't hesitate about staying there again. Bil and Marcia Geisler
