An extremely spacious ground floor, poolside apartment in the beautiful Don Joaquin complex, featuring 2 large bedrooms and 2 large full size bathrooms in a private complex in the heart of Benalmadena. It boasts a large sunny furnished terrace with a private wall and gate giving direct access to swimming pool and pretty gardens, no climbing stairs or long walks to the pool - it's right there! The apartment has everything you need for a truly relaxing break. Fully fitted kitchen, spacious lounge/diner, 2 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (en-suite to master), fully air con. Full English TV with latest films and all sports channels plus Wi-Fi throughout. Your own sun loungers are provided. Mothercare Travel Cot, high chair and changing mat provided. All this in a peaceful, private and secure residential complex, not your typical holiday complex packed with people. Security gates operate at entrance and apartment has an intercom system. 2 beaches and Marina are only 5 mins walk and all amenities are 2 mins walk. Fabulous for golfers too, with many wonderful courses along the Golden Mile to choose from. Like us you will love every bit of it! (Pool is opened from 15 April - 30 October each year).

Further details : It truly is a wonderful place to go to and we have done everything to ensure the apartment allows you to have a fabulous holiday. Previous visitors have described it as truly relaxing with everything at your fingertips. We have lots of guides/maps available to you in the apartment which you are most welcome to use and I have produced a Useful Information sheet giving you lots more information on the local area as well as the best bars and restaurants we have found. Guest comments "the apartment was super, we couldn't have wanted more", "the most comfortable beds ever!" "Everything we wanted was there - so comfortable we didn't want to come home". The apartment is extremely spacious and many guests love the 'home from home' feel. Its location can't be beaten as everything you could want is within walking distance. The complex is called Don Joaquin and is a private development. The apartment is ideal for summer or winter stays as the heating unit has a heating or air conditioning setting. Long rentals over the winter are available with special discounts for senior citizens. It comfortable sleeps 5 (with the very comfy double sofabed in the lounge which is idea for 1). Our children love to play or relax in our private terrace when they have had enough swimming, it's also great for sun worshippers for catching the last remaining rays of the day. A Mothercare travel cot, high chair and changing mat are provided. No smoking or no pets please. 2 Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 - Comfortable King Size bed, fitted wardrobes with lots of hangers, bedside tables & lamps. A very large bedroom with 2 patio doors and black out shutters. Bedroom 2 - 2 single beds, fitted wardrobes with lots of hangers, bedside table & lamp, travel cot available. Window, black out shutters. Bathrooms: En-suite bathroom to Master bedroom with bath & powerful shower over, double basin unit set in marble, large mirror, wc. Bathroom 2 with bath & powerful shower over, two basins, mirrored cabinets, wc. Both bathrooms are tiled floor to ceiling with marble floors. Kitchen: Fully fitted kitchen including electric cooker, hob, extractor fan, microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, kettle, lots of cutlery/crockery. Baby highchair, iron and ironing board. Clothes dryer, shopping trolley. Living Rooms: Open plan lounge/dining room furnished to a very high standard, with l-shaped sofa (which converts into a comfy small double bed), dining table and 4 chairs. The TV offers a deluxe TV package which includes BBC, ITV, SKY Channels, Latest Movies, & Sports Channels. We also provide a DVD player. Patio door leads to private furnished terrace area. Air conditioning throughout. All towels and bed linen provided (not beach towels). Additional cleaning or linen change can be arranged during your stay at an additional cost.

Accessibility:No steps to climb to access the apartment, making it ideal for wheelchairs or buggy's. You are walking down hill to the beach, amenities and marina and therefore walking up hill on your way back - but it is a 'gentle' hill. Outside the private terrace area, accessed directly through the patio doors from the lounge or the Master bedroom has its own ceramic table and four chairs. 4 sun loungers are also provided. So safe for children with a lockable gate. The communal pool, for use by complex residents only, is on your doorstep (open 15 April - 30 October 10am - 8pm) and accessed through your own lockable terrace gate. There are some safety rules around the pool area to ensure all guests have a safe and enjoyable stay. No ball games or lilos are allowed in or around the pool. Please observe the rules around the pool and complex. The well maintained gardens are lawned, with an array of lovely plants and flowers. A great space for the children to have a bit more freedom to play or for you to chill out with a beer in the late afternoon sun (please refrain from bringing any glass in the gardens or pool area for safety reasons). Fabulous views to the hills, where a cable car runs right to the top. Security gates operate at the top of the drive, where there is ample private parking. Coast/Beach - There are two fabulous beaches a mere 5-10 mins walk from the apartment, and a promenade that stretches for miles with plenty of shops are restaurants. Benalmadena Marina, voted "The Prettiest in Europe" is also 5-10 mins walk where there are loads of attractions (including SeaLife), as well as much nightlife. Tivoli World, a large theme park, is 10 mins drive, Benalmadena Park is 15 mins walk with wildlife strolling around and Selwo Park, with sealion and dolphin shows is 20 mins walk. Golf - Between 15 - 20 excellent courses are within 30 minutes drive. The nearest course is Torrequbrada which is only 5-10 mins drive. My husband will be able to recommend other fabulous courses and give you information on the best prices.Skiing - We have driven to Sierra Nevada from our apartment in 2 hours - where you will find wonderful skiing. You can ski from December to end of April, so why not combine a ski and sun holiday? Special interest holidays - A fabulous promenade runs for miles along the beach which is great for walkers and joggers. Many watersports take place on the beach. Travel - Malaga airport is 10 mins drive away with taxi's available outside the airport. There are numerous bus stops a few minutes walk from the apartment where buses run to close by resorts including Malaga. The train station is 10-15 mins walk away. Catch the bus or train to Fuengirola Zoo which is in the next resort, 15-20 mins away. Distances - Many shops, bars, restaurants, banks are only minutes from the apartment with 'Benalmar Complex / 24 hr Square' at the bottom of the road. A popular market on Fridays in Arroya de la Miel is 15-20 mins walk. This lively town has a great range of shops, restaurants and bars, from typical Spanish tapas bars to great English cafes. A fab kid play area is also there. Aquapark is a 5 minute drive away as is the Crocodile Park. Puerto Banus 35 mins drive.

Getting around

The best thing about the apartment is its location - as everything is within walking distance. Two spectacular beaches, a beautiful promenade for long walks, many shops, bars & restaurants. To explore further afield, buses run from the bottom of the road, taxis are easy to find and the train station is 15 minute walk.

Interaction with guest

You will deal directly with myself, Finola McFaul Woodhouse. My husband and I have owned the apartment from new. We bought it so our family could enjoy a spacious apartment in a fabulous location, with the home from home comforts but in a sunnier, warmer climate than the UK. We live near Dunstable in Bedfordshire and are available to speak to on our mobile or email, whatsapp or text. We have a lady who lives on the complex and looks after our apartment, so any problems you encounter will be dealt with swiftly.

We are unable to accept groups of all male or female groups. The apartment is for families only that reside in the UK. The apartment is in a quiet complex and suitable for guests wishing for a quiet relaxing holiday. The sofabed is suitable for 2 small children. There is a Kingsize Bed in Bedroom 1 and 2 single beds in Bedroom 2. Due to any unforeseen maintenance issues that may occur with the pool, we cannot guarantee it will be opened on the dates specified.

“Highly Recommend”

Wow this is a great apartment, ground floor with it’s own terrace leading to a gorgeous swimming pool and beautiful lawned area with gorgeous trees and flowers. The apartment is very spacious and beds extremely comfortable. 2 bathrooms is a bonus. Took about 7 mins to walk to beach and marina. Booking was so easy with Finola, she dealt with everything even airport transfers. Thank you, we would love to return in the future.

“Great stay in a perfect apartment”

We made a last min booking and nothing was too much for finola she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and she kept in contact all through the holiday. There was a point I needed some help with finding an open pharmacy she was brilliant. The apartment is one of the best of the block it’s right outside the pool which was great, it meant we didn’t have to bring stuff to the pool each time. If you have kids that love the pool and are in and out this is definitely for you. The apartment itself was lovely really spacious has everything you need for a lovely holiday. There is actually nothing negative I can say about the place. It’s close to the marina which is lovely some really nice restaurants on there. The beach is lovely too. All In all a great holiday and we would definitely return to this apartment. Thanks Finola for wonderful communication and a wonderful holiday.

“Great position”

We stayed in finola and simon's lovely flat last week of June.Great flat with fabulous direct access to the pool.Ideal having the 2 bathrooms. Flat well placed to access buses and trains. Only improvement would be to install a working TV with all relevant channels, and WiFi would be a bonus. None of us were able to connect to the neighbour's code provided.Overall great holiday.
