“Absolutely Lovely!”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2016

We arrived following our host's instructions and everything was as listed. It's a very roomy 2 bedroom, 2 bath home which was great considering we traveled with our grown son. The street was nice and quiet except for the lovely night songs of the coquis. The house itself was situated close enough to town and with our rental car we were able to get to the awesome beaches. The kitchen is roomy so that everyone can pitch in to make a great meal. It's well stocked with pans, dishes, glasses, etc. . . With a quick trip to the grocery you're all set. I hope to come again one day.

Response from the owner Thank you for your input. I am happy to hear that my guests enjoyed the property as much as I do.

“Everything we hoped it would be...”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2014

This first floor two bedroom apartment was great and just what we'd hoped it would be for two parents and a teen. It is in great shape and truly felt like a home and not a rental unit. In a safe neighborhood 0.8 miles from Isabelle 2, it is a quick drive or easy walk into town. Isabelle 2 is far more preferable to Esparanza in my mind as it is the main town where there are restaurants, a bank, shops and markets and of course the local people who we found to be warm and helpful. The unit has access to a wonderful private patio/garden beside a patch of banana tress and is surrounded by a privacy wall which allows glimpses of the ocean beyond. We enjoyed sitting there after exploring the island or a day at the beach. Being on a bit of a hill in the Bravo de Boston area allows for great sun and pleasant breezes which we reveled in. There was a place for our rented jeep as well. So of course everyone has concerns about the roosters crowing day and night as did we. Not many want to have roosters directly outside the window. Happily this location did not have "proximate" roosters. Yes, you can hear them, but they are at a distance and I must say we liked having the sounds of distant crowing as part of the Vieques experience. The unit has aC, but it was definitely not needed at this time of the year. The ceiling fans were perfect for our needs. Keeping the screen doors closed will keep out evening/early morning mosquitos which are another part of Vieques life. We were really happy to have the use of portable beach chairs and a beach umbrella provided by the Owner. A nice touch I thought. The owner was very pleasant and provided us with great tips on getting from PR to Vieques. She also gave us great information about the island once we arrived regarding the ins and outs of island life and was able to drop us off at the car rental place when we arrived, and at the ferry when we reluctantly started our return trip. We plan on returning and staying again!

“Perfect Vieques Get-Away”

Reviewed 5 Jan 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent week in Vieques and much of that is due to our comfortable stay at Villa Tres Palmas. For the same price of a budget hotel, we got a luxury condo with lots of privacy. Regina and her husband live in the unit upstairs. You get the best of both worlds-- you barely notice they're there, but when you need them they're quick to help out. The unit is very modern, with clean bathrooms (with hot water), two comfortable beds, a nice sitting area with cable TV, and a clean kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook. In addition, Regina provides a lot of extras, including an ample supply of bath and beach towels, beach chairs, a cooler, washer/dryer access, rides around town and to and from the airport. She went out of her way to help us secure a rental jeep during the busy holiday season. She's a genuinely kind person, who loves Vieques, and wants to help her guests have the best stay possible. The location is about a 10-minute walk through the neighborhood of Bravos de Boston, to the main downtown area of Isabella II. We enjoyed our walks back and forth each day. Sometimes we got cabs and and rides from friendly locals. Personally, we preferred this more residential location to the more touristy village of Esperanza to the south. Liked best: we loved sitting outside on the patio in the morning, surrounded by the green lawn with coconut and banana trees. At night you can hear the chirping of frogs as you fall asleep, with the window open and island breeze coming in. Seriously, I can not think of a single critique about Villa Tres Palmas; guest who are able to book it are really lucky to get such value for their money. Have a great trip.
