“Remote, beautiful, and relaxing”

Reviewed 31 May 2014

This was our second stay, and it was wonderful again. We stayed with 9 adults and 3 small children. The house was comfortable and clean. We love the remoteness that provides a beautiful beach. There were dolphin sightings everyday, the weather was wonderful with cool mornings and very warm swim able water in early May. We met the owners, Milo and Boni, who are very pleasant to work with and very accommodating. Anticipating our next return!

Our stay at Santo Tomas was lovely. We were here for Christmas and New Years. This is not "America" in Mexico. You are in a rural area with nothing but solitude and miles of beautiful beach. You can walk forever. Sometimes yours are the only prints. We kayaked with the dolphins, saw a seahorse, millions of shells, sand dollars, hiked in hundreds of year old cacti, climbed the dunes, built sandcastles and just relaxed. We even watched whales go by from the rooftop deck. It was perfect. The house had all you need and almost all you could want. Milo and Bonnie were easy to work with. We had no problems getting to the Hacienda. We found all we needed in the towns of Puerto Penasco and Caborca, although the local village market was sufficient for us. If you are not able to create meals from a few simple ingredients, you may want to stock up in PP or bring supplies from home. When we arrived we were the only ones at the development. It was so fun to have the whole place to ourselves. The security staff was very helpful and even did some shopping for us so we didn't have to drive to town. Bring firewood as there is not much available locally that we found. There was no internet service and while my husband has international service on his phone, we found reception to be sketchy. Not a big deal for us, but if you're tied to social media and the internet, this may not be an ideal location for you. What you won't find here is a big screen tv with hundreds of channels, shopping and restaurants. What you will find is nature all around you at its finest with lots of room for your imagination. We traveled with our two children 6 & 8 who except for evenings after dark, when we weren't sitting by a campfire, playing a board game or working on a puzzle, would watch a movie. No outside world needed. We had a great time! We would highly recommend Milo and Bonnie's Hacienda, but fear when others learn of this treasure it will be lost. Just go, its great!!

Response from the owner Kris and Joe, Thanks again for your great review. We came down last night and it is superb. Adolfo spoke very highly of you and your family. The Ipod docks and dictionaries are now in the Hacienda and Casita. Thanks for the tip. Your review was the best ever and we would like to reward you with an additional $100 off your next full week stay at our beach. We always give a $100 discount for returning guests so you will have a $200 credit. We also installed all new locks on knobs and deadbolts so the keys are smooth as butter. Thanks again for your wonderful review. We hope to be here on your next stay so we can become friends. Milo

“Heaven on earth”

Reviewed 17 Jul 2013

There is no better hospitality and service received anywhere else. Milo and Bonnie are two of the most fun loving people who will make sure your every want and need is taken care of. The home is gorgeous, comfortable and with every bit of satisfaction that will make you never want to leave from kayaking with dolphins, riding four wheelers to seeing such awesome scenery and the beautiful sunsets makes the location of the home epic and unforgettable.

“A Unique location and a beautiful house”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2013

We are seasoned Mexico Travelers, but never to this area. It is beautiful and out of the way. We stayed in the Hacienda with 9 people very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. We loved being able to walk out of the house and down to the water. We saw dolphins going by while eating breakfast on the porch. All in all a true Mexico experience!

“This is what heaven will probably be like.”

I'm definitely going back! The size of the home, the cleanliness, the privacy, and view were amazing. I loved waking up in the morning to the sound of the ocean. I recommend going crabbing in the morning and you can have great dinner at night! Thx Milo & Bonnie for offering your beautiful home!

“Dream vacation get away”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2013

My husband and I continue to coming back. The beach house is the perfect private get away that is clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. I love that we can wake up, have breakfast, walk out the door and be right on a sunny beach. There are always a bunch of double and single kayaks for us to enjoy, 4-wheelers and the friendliest hospitality when the owners are there. The past 3years that we have been here we have had the opportunity to kayak with the dolphins... not allot of people can say that. A touristy city called Puerto Penasco, also known as "Rocky Point" is about 45mins away. We like to plan to visit there either before we drive out to Santo Tomas to buy foods at the local markets or make a visit during the week to go shopping and have drinks and food at The Friendly Dolphin, Pollos Locos or Mary's. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a total get away. We will continue returning, because it truly is a dream vacation.

Response from the owner Thanks Babe. You rock

“Another Great Experience”

Reviewed 13 Jun 2013

This was our second trip down to the "Hacienda" Border crossing was very easy, weather was great and the homes looks as new as ever. We enjoyed use of the kayaks, boogie boards, skim boards, and beach chairs provided. We traveled with a large group this time utilizing the Hacienda and casita, all of our first time visitors want to come back! We are so glad we found this little piece of paradise!!!

“Completely and utterly relaxed and free of everyday worries.”

Reviewed 12 Jun 2013

The service from Milo and Bonnie was absolutely astounding. They make sure to take care of your every need and are so good about helping you get the most out of your vacation. The home is breathtaking upon first sight and when you take a tour you are taken back by how immaculate the tile work and how amazing the rooftop scenery is. The location is superb and very secluded, giving you pretty much your own private beach. You can explore the desert on the four-wheelers, kayak with the dolphins (if they're in close enough) and watch the sun go down while finding endless sea shells and sand dollars. I absolutely loved the feeling of being secluded and having my own private beach, and watching the sun go down every night over the horizon of the Sea of Cortez, it was the most relaxing and worry free get away I have ever experienced. There is fun for everyone and you are bound to fall in love with place and their beautiful home. It is a once in a lifetime vacation that you don't want to pass up!

“Dream vacation!”

Reviewed 11 Jun 2013

This is probably the 5th time I have stayed at this home and the 2nd time staying in the Casita. Everything is beautiful, from having everything you would have in your own kitchen to the play toys for the sea (kayaks, skimboards, body boards etc.) The home is located in a prime spot being that you can walk to your own private beach but then be in Puerto Penasco in an hour for shopping, nightlife etc. We love coming here and will definitely be back for more!

The best trip ever! The house was spotless clean and so user friendly, I didn't ever think oh I wish I had this to use! Milo and Bonnie are like dear friends loved them and the time they spent with us! I really can't think of anything that I would change well maybe stay longer but other than that there is nothing!
