Description
Casa Lucia is a charming five hundred years old stone House in the medieval heart of the historic town of Vodnjan/ Dignano.
The house is a wonderful example of a typical Venetian town house set on a stone courtyard facing the little church of S Giacomo.
Set on five floors, the ground floor includes a well-equipped living kitchen, a beautiful family bathroom and an entrance hall.
A wooden staircase leads to the first floor where a sitting room/ dining room is located. The space is well presented and offers two large sofas perfect for lazy afternoons or pre dinner gathering.
The second floor includes two single bedrooms, (each bedroom has an extra folding single bed), while the third floor accommodates a double bedroom and a second family bathroom. All the bedrooms are tastefully furnished and very well maintained.
The attic is set as a twin bedroom with exposed original stone wall and beautiful original wooden beans.
Outside a fairly small private courtyard with a barbeque offers the possibility of al fresco dining and seating.
Recently renovated, the house has been finished to a high quality standard throughout with attention to the preservation of the original character.
The house is very well presented, designed with care and individual, highly artistic style and it is full of charm. The spaces are adorned by many artefacts and accessories that have been sourced internationally with the large canvas artwork coming from the owner personal collection.
Casa Lucia is literally seconds away from the wonderful main medieval town square, closed to all the amities: post office, bank, tourist office, shops, Boucher, patisserie, bars, hairdresser...
Vodnjan has many restaurants and bars and they are all a short walking distance from the house.
The local area is excellent for biking, exploring, walking and rock climbing.
Nearby Pula has a large Roman amphitheatre, a busy harbour as well as museums, shops and many cultural and sporting activities. Frequent bus service.
It is also only 20 min from Rovinj and 10 min drive from the ferry to Brijuni Island, the so much acclaimed national park resort.
The nearest beach is 10 minutes’ drive or 20 min bike ride.

“A peaceful retreat in the very heart of a magical city.”
The house itself is beautiful, designed with care and individual, higly artistic style. It's literally just round the corner from the main square, but it opens to a small square of its own, complete with an old church. This is a trully peaceful retreat in the heart of this wonderful city, where old custom and the spirit of Istria is still very much alive. The hosts couldn't be more kind and honest, and I am very grateful for their hospitality. To sum things up: if you want to experience authentic Istria in its fullness, this is the best place to do it from!

“A beautiful house in the heart of the old town of Dignano in Croatia”
We loved the property which is an old venetian house in the heart of the old city. The house which comprises 4 floors is very well maintained and equipped and very tastefully furnished; it also has the added bonus of being decorated with intereseting original art work. Casa Lucia is located right in the centre of the old quarter, literally seconds away from the wonderful main square, and there are several small bread, meat and grocery stores within a minute or two of the house. We loved the house and recommend it for the true atmosphere of a craotian town.

“Old house full of character in un-spoilt old town”
If you are looking for an authentic old house in a picturesque and un-spoilt town, this could be just the place! It is a simple, unpretentious house, with lots of character. There is a great view from the top floor of some of the wonderful old buildings of the town. This is somewhere for those who want to absorb the atmosphere of the old town, with it's mixture of Gothic, Venetian Renaissance and Baroque architecture. Winding lanes lead here and there and it's a great base for exploring the wider area.
