“Magnificent Rental and Wonderful Host”

Despite the cyclonic conditions on our last day we had a most enjoyable time at this apartment over five nights. The views are great, every facility was provided for and host Jill was magnificent in providing our every comfort. Our best accommodation in our six week holiday in New Zealand.

We absolutely loved our choice of Whareako View! Jill was such a wonderful host, our family really appreciated her attention to detail and pampering! The home is perfect for a family of 4. The kitchen, while small was just perfect for making delicious meals and the outdoor porch with million dollar view was the perfect place to enjoy meals and morning coffee.

The spacious 2 bedroomed apartment on the lower level of Jill's home on this quiet residential hilltop location is somewhere definitely to chill and relax. The view to the sea is superb and we had to tear ourselves away! We enjoyed great weather so we sat outside on the large deck area for our breakfasts ( shaded and unshaded areas) Large modern glassed topped dining table and comfortable chairs with seat pads( look new) Very private and although there is a very modern home next door, due to the design and screens this wasn't a problem. The apartment has been thoughtfully planned out and provides everything, apart from a full sized oven. There is however, a combination type microwave, oven and grill which is excellent, together with a halogen 2 ring modern stove. No dishwasher. Full size fridge and top freezer ( midi size) laundry service offered by Jill. Everything and everywhere sparkles! Complimentary extras ie wine, chocolates, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, even oil and tomato sauce ( lots more too) Both bedrooms a great size and linen top quality. We had the best nights sleep as the bed was so comfortable. Hair dryer, extra blankets for the cooler months, toiletries ( part from shampoo & conditioner ) Jill is on hand if anything is needed but equally ensures privacy. Children welcomed here too. We drove to Coromandel town ( 40mins) fabulous scenery on route. Whitianga beach very peaceful and easy parking which is approx 5 mins drive from house. There is a refundable monetary bond system to pay on booking which was the new to us ( second trip to NZ staying in various types of accommodation) This might put some people off booking but I'd suggest not to worry as it is returned immediately on departure. Thanks Jill - we hope to return soon and would definitely recommend to others.

This is a picturesque location and Jill (owner) helps to make you feel at home and part of the family. The apartment has all the little creature comforts (electric blankets for cold nights, BBQ for warm days) and the kitchen is a quaint setting. Next time we visit we will take our son, as it is only five minutes drive from the beach.

Turning up from the UK for Christmas with two small children, we were slightly apprehensive about what we would find. Jill welcomed us with open arms, the place was perfect - great views, fantastic facilities - we couldn't have asked for more. Jill was very helpful and friendly - making sure we were OK, and offering up suggestions as to what to do with the kids, but at the same time leaving us to our own devices as well. We loved the views, and sitting there on Christmas day with crayfish, a glass of wine and two contented kids was just how we had imagined spending Christmas away from home. There is so much to do on the Coromandel, and each day was a new adventure. The weather (it rained a bit) didn't stop us, and all in all, this trip has given us a taste of NX, and we can't wait to come back and see more.

My son & I were lucky enough to stay in Jill's fantastic guest house. We couldn't have wished for a more friendly host or amazing view. The guest house was extremely clean and had everything we could possibly want and more! We're hoping to go back again soon!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wharekaho View. From the moment Jill welcomed us we knew it was going to be good. The views were amazing and we felt totally at home in the comfortable and luxurious surroundings. Jill kindly provided a lot of the little things to make our stay easy for us. The kitchen setup was perfect for us and we happily used it as a base to explore the beautiful Mercury Bay area. Having our own private backyard and BBQ was a bonus. We will definitely be going back and recommending Wharekaho View to our family and friends.

We had such an enjoyable stay at Wharekaho view. The view itself is stunning, so relaxing to sit overlooking the bay with a glass of wine (kindly provided by Jill). The apartment had everything we needed for our stay and is furnished beautifully. We loved the quiet and spacious location too. Whitianga is a town with plenty of amenities, a good base for Cathedral Cove and Hot Waves Beach. Jill is an excellent host, she is there if you need her and very accomodating. We certainly hope to return.
