Beautiful tea estate accomodation near Kandy in the the hill country of Sri Lanka.

Built in 1860, Strathisla guest house is one of the 'grand old ladies' of the tea estate bungalows in Sri Lanka.

Situated in the hill country near Kandy, where the days are warm and the nights refreshingly cool, Strathisla tea estate bungalow is now open to all as a charming guest house set on a working tea estate surrounded by tropical spice gardens.

Whether its taking a dip in the local waterhole, exploring the local villages and surrounding tea country, hiking the Knuckle ranges or simply whiling the day away with endless cups of tea on the expansive verandah, Strathisla guest house will be sure to provide all with relaxation and peace.

For those feeling a little more adventurous, Strathisla tea estate bungalow is perfectly positioned to enjoy day trips to all the major sites in the cultural triangle; Kandy being 50mins to the south while Sigiria is only 80mins to the north.

Despite its proximity to the major sites, Strathisla guest house is located in an area completely off the tourist track and therefore makes it the perfect point from which to explore the breathtaking scenery of the highlands.

20 September 2015 to 23 December 2015: USD $125 per room (2 adults and 2 kids) per night including breakfast.

24 December 2015 to 10 January 2016: USD $140 per room (2 adults and 2 kids) per night including breakfast.

11 January 2016 to 23 December 2016: USD $125 per room (2 adults and 2 kids) per night including breakfast.

24 December 2016 to 10 January 2017: USD $140 per room (2 adults and 2 kids) per night including breakfast.

Per entire Bungalow per night (sleeps 16 people):

20 September 2015 to 23 December 2015: USD $450 per bungalow per night including breakfast.

24 December 2015 to 10 January 2016: USD $520 per bungalow per night including breakfast.

11 January 2016 to 23 December 2016: USD $450 per bungalow per night including breakfast.

24 December 2016 to 10 January 2017: USD $520 per bungalow per night including breakfast.

Please note: an additional $10 per night will be charged for any additional bed per child and $20 per night will be charged for any additional bed per adult or for any increase in the maximum number of people. The maximum number of additional beds per room is 1.

Please also note, there is no charge for meals for children under 3.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I make changes to my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your booking page. To change your dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Peter (the owner) a message.

If Peter (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
