“A true paradise”

Reviewed 14 Feb 2014

My family and I spent a week at the Last Frontier and had the most wonderful time. The island itself is paradise, with gorgeous beaches and no one else in sight. The night skies are something spectacular. We doubted there are many places left on earth where you could see so many stars. The fresh seafood was also out of this world. So... we fell in love with the island. The Eagles Rest accommodations were great for us. The finishes looked great. The beds were very comfortable. The two bathrooms turned out to be a necessity for our family of six. The kitchen had everything we needed for our home cooked meals. Located a few yards away from Bambarra Beach, which was one of our two favorite beaches. And whenever we encountered a problem (because issues always arise), Junior was very quick to help us remediate the situation. Thank you Junior and Dick for the wonderful memories!

“Adventure Island, A true paradise lost”

Reviewed 10 Jan 2014

Impossible I said, to find a relatively island of this size with so few people in this day and age but here we were, on the island of Middle Caicos, the largest of the Turks and Caicos island but with only 300 residents. The pictures did not lie, the place was immaculate and luxurious and the white sand beach stretched for miles. We found even better beachs a few miles away at Cow Hill Bay where we had full access to calm waters everyday so as to try our skill at Kayaking and Paddleboarding. Fresh Fish and Lobster were readily available and while not the best in the world, I managed to get my share with the able assistance of our local guide, Ice Robinson of Conch Bar. This place is lost in time and should be put on an endangered list so as to protect it from development. I can't begin to fathom the difficulty in building this retreat in the middle of nowhere, but here it was... Central air, 10' ceilings, spacious accommodations awesomely decorated and the kitchen was huge and well equipped. The downside if you will was a 6-7 mile drive to the 2 local restaurants in Conch Bar or over to North Caicos where there were plenty to chose from. We took a day to explore North Caicos which was a nice ride across the causeway which had been recently restored but quickly returned to our tranquility and semi-private beaches. We saw only 30 people in a week and I think most were day trippers coming from Providenciales on the ferry. A day of fishing with Dolphus arthur and his sidekick Tboy is a must. The people are extremely friendly and the property manager, Mr Forbes were fabulous. We will be back but for a longer period of time because there is just too much to explore and enjoy. 1st timers need to hire a guide because the best treasures such as Cow Hill Bay, Half a Creek and the channel between Joe Grants Cay are not readily known or mapped out properly. As I said, Adventure Island, thankfully still lost in time.

Response from the owner Your thoughts and words are so deeply appreciated and we hope you return shortly. Our people loved you as well.. Ice and Junior send their regards We deeply appreciate your referrals as well. We will take excellent care of your friends.

“Back in time”

Reviewed 7 Jan 2014

My wife, daughter, and myself stayed at the Eagles rest townhouse in august. The town house has marble floors, and counters, modern kitchen and bathroom. Very nice place to stay. Middle Caicos was like going back in time, the beach is as it would have been when it was first discovered. Best of all was the local island people, we made life long friends. Everyone was so nice, especially "Ice" (his nick name) who stopped what he was doing to help us, and was alway there to show us around. Everyone on the island goes by a nick name, and they all are very kind. Other name's to give good mention to are Chris, Jr., Kimbo, Uncle, Pound. Thanks for the good time.

“A Precious Getaway”

You take many chances in life and obviously choosing a vacation is always an adventure. You just never know what your going to find. We needed a real getaway and this island of Middle Caicos proved to be just that. Almost five miles of white sand, calm seas and crystal clear water were a welcome site considering our apprehensions to begin with. All this being said, the island people proved to be the best find, extremely friendly and helpful in every regard. Ice Robinson's smile will stay with us forever as will Junior Forbes attentiveness to our every need. The accommodations were almost beyond belief, to find this kind of quality in such a remote outpost was indeed a big relief. The marble walk in showers were a special treat. Granite counters in a full kitchen didn't hurt either. We were extremely lucky because the Lobster Season was extended for several weeks because of climate change ?? but no matter, we ate like queens. Check seasonal dates if this is an issue. Dont miss the opportunity to Kayak or Paddleboard at Half a Creek or Cow Hill Bay and be sure to bring your masks and snorkels... Unbelievable ! Just what we were hoping to find, an unspoiled paradise. Look up Dolphus arthur for deep sea fishing and his faithful sidekick T Boy who is one of the best at scrounging up Lobster dinners

Villa on the beach which we first rented 20 years ago a little run down but clean and ready for us to move in. Central air conditioning was an unexpected bonus,as was the upscale electric stove. The first equipment failure was the toaster which was immediately with a bran new one. We knew the villa was scheduled for re-modeling,and enjoy each report of progress being made. Would we go back again ?? Absolutely !!!

Response from the owner We are so pleased to advise that the renovations are now complete with a New Walk-in Shower, Bathroom Vanity, All New Bedroom sets, New Kitchen Counters, Outside shower door, New Entertainment Center and Sofa as well as a new marble top Island Counter... Only thing missing now is you, fix that ..... Just playing, I saw your reservation for Feb/March...

“Please take me back!”

I stayed at Mr. Zebos condo for a week with my family and 2 other times with friends. The condo is beautiful from its furniture to the decor to its layout. I felt completely comfortable and at home when I was there. The tv was stocked with numerous movies and the beds were so comfortable. The location of the condo is perfect. It's just a hop, skip and step away from the beach an when sitting eating breakfast on the porch you can look at the ocean and listen to the waves crash. I felt totally safe while staying there. The island is known for its extremely low crime rate and all the islanders are so kind and helpful. Many of them I became close to and have over for dinner when I'm staying. The beach right infront of the condo is so peaceful. The water is crystal clear andthe sand is soft. The each always has a nice breeze while the sun warms you up. One of the islanders even took us out to a local coral reef where we snorkeled and to places where we could fish and catch lobsters. I can't wait to go back and stay at the condo! I highly recommend it for anyone ! Honeymooners to family vacation to a vacation with friends.havea wonderful trip!

“Eagle Rest ? May be Rat Hole ?”

Reviewed 25 Nov 2012

Rent a property from 21 to 28 November. Stayed at west wing. Arrive on November 21, leave on November 22 because a rat live in the house. After leaving property and after talking with local police officer, owner accepted partial refund money by PayPal. He returned USD 1300 of paid USD 1750. I will not describe the advantages, it will make the owner - Mr. Richard Zebo, and property manager - Mr. Ernest Forbes. Let me describe the cons: The main disadvantage was a rat in the house. Noise under stairs began at 9pm and at 4am the noise ended. A sleepless night, the wife and daughter were scared. In the morning I see the rat droppings. It is unpleasant and unsafe, they carry a lot of diseases. Then I call to manager and say that we couldn`t live with house with rat and now leave the house. Minor but annoying things. Behind the house is a dump of old machinery. The area around the house was littered. Conditioning system was slowly working. Tap water with the smell. The toilet does not work in the second bedroom. Poorly cleaned, cabinets with the other people's things. A lot of dishes, but part of it was dirty. Balcony grid has a hole. There is a small black bugs (sandfly) in the beach, their bites are not well tolerated by all, take antibiotic ointment with you. Internet. The description on flipkey and tripadvisor specified. In fact it is not. Had to use a wifi at Daniel`s Cafe. Meet and greet service. Was on the old truck. 2 persons in the cabin, the third person in the back. Romantic and very uncomfortable. The road from the ferry terminal at least one hour under the sun, some of the road - on the broken bumpy causeway. Included car. They have 2 cars for a renters. Worn truck and old minivan. In my case it was the truck on which we meet. Promised later changed to a minivan. I used this pickup one day. Bad brakes, flat tires, engine problems and charge the battery. It does not work half the devices. You do not know how much gasoline in the tank. You can not pull in far. Middle Caicos lovely place, but be careful with Eagle Rest and Eagle Land Development Ltd

“Ealges Rest Townhouses”

Reviewed 21 Dec 2011

I just came back from a few nights on Middle Caicos at one of the Townhouses...2 of the townhouses are still being built, but the one we stayed in was really nice. great kitchen, nice size bedrooms, nice bathrooms, everything was new and nicely furnished. If you don't go to Middle to pick it apart, it can be really quite enjoyable and really really relaxing. We visited the Cave system in Conch Bar. The most extensive in the Caribbean. We stayed half a day at Mudjin Harbour and if you need to do anything else, I am not sure why!!!??? We ate at Daniels Cafe for a incredible meal and while we did not have time on this trip to do any fishing, we will be back for sure next year and I am sure the Island and the Townhouses will even be more inviting!!! Some landscaping is needed and is ongoing, but the people are great, Ice will help with whatever he can and it is nice to be able to drive around the island and not worry about anything...Oh and the airport bar is something to check out too!!! Lovely girl Kera who owns it...

“As in the past ,very comfortable”

Reviewed 26 Nov 2011

Lovely site, well appointed cottage within 100 yards of the beach. The fishing and snorkling supplied fish every day and we enjoyed eating 15 species including also conch. The boat motor needs a bit of repair so can be more reliable. Ice,the caretaker, was attentive and Dolphus did a fine job locating bonefish near East Caicos. We will very likely return either this or next season.

“The best vacation in all the countries I've visited...”

Reviewed 16 Nov 2011

My boyfriend and I got exactly what we needed...Paradise, special treatment by the locals, the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen, comfort, privacy and by far...Romantic. Of all the 6 countries I have vacationed, Middle Caicos was more than what a vacation should be. My soul was at peace and the beauty never ended. I strongly believe that our vacation was as perfect as it was because of our stay with Richard Zebo's rental. The hospitality was beyond anything I have ever experienced and our stay in the Townhouse was luxurious and comfortable, not to mention the convenient location of the beaches, flamingo ponds, caves, the famous Daniel's Cafe, and the local bar where we met all the hospitable people of the small beautiful island. Thank you Richard Zebo for being responsible for our most perfect vacation we've had in our 4 year relationship where we have traveled 6 other countries.
