Casa Luna Llena (which means Full Moon House and evokes the moon shining over the waters of Vieques) is located in a quiet residential street of Esperanza village, minutes away from wonderful beaches, including mile-long Sun Bay, and the unique Malecón, or waterfront promenade, where you will find restaurants, shops, handicraft stands, kayak and snorkeling rentals and the tours to the Bioluminescent Bay. On weekend and holiday nights, El Malecón's hanging-out spots offer regular and exotic drinks and food, music, dancing and very nice local and visiting people.
Recently renovated, Casa Luna Llena has spacious rooms, lots of light and cross ventilation and fans everywhere (even in the bathrooms). A front balcony and back terrace with comfortable porch furniture and two hammocks provide plenty of relaxation space. You will share the fruit and shade trees in the large fenced-in yard with chicken families that roam the neighborhood. The living area (20 X 20) has a delightful high wood ceiling with two large fans. The house is decorated with beautiful Puerto Rican/Caribbean art and handicrafts. The kitchen has a stainless-steel side-by-side refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and washer-dryer combo and is fully equipped with new appliances, cooking utensils and dining ware. Two bedrooms are 10’ X 16’ and both have one queen and a twin bed, large sliding door closets, AC, and wall fans. One bedroom has cable TV. The bathrooms are completely tiled and fitted with new fixtures. If your group is larger than six persons or if you prefer the privacy of an additional room, we offer an optional master bedroom with AC, wall fan, cable TV, walk-in closet, and direct access to the second bathroom for an additional cost.
Staying in Esperanza means you do not need a car to take advantage of the nearby beaches and facilities, but you may want to rent a car for a day or two to visit some of the other wonderful beaches and enjoy the spectacular sights from the hills of this tropical paradise.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Casa Luna Llena. The home is spacious, well maintained, completely equipped for cooking (except for the collection of exceedingly dull knives) and beautifully decorated. It is close to great dining and water sports. We would definitely stay there again.
“excellent location ...complete relaxation”
We had a wonderful week in this well-equipped, centrally located very comfortable home in Esperanza. We loved having coffee in the morning on the back terrace and even enjoyed being woken up by the roosters! Living on a residential street made us feel like we were part of the town for the week. It's an easy walk to the Malecon and to the restaurants. Without a doubt the best and most beautiful beach on the island is the Balneario Sun Bay within a 2 minute drive from the house. The house caretakers couldn't have been nice and more attentive. We can't wait to return!
Casa Luna is great place to stay. We had a group of six people stay there for two night. The house owner is so nice, and welcome. The house is very nice, relaxing clean, and provides everything you need. The location of the house is also really great, only taking 5 mins walking time to the beach and many restaurants. We even had a party at the house. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed this rental house- it had everything we need in a home base. And lots of little features that helped make the experience better too- ice maker in refrigerator and a washer/dryer. And it was clean! Neighborhood was nice and close to town too.
Loved this place. Such a quiet clean place in a local neighborhood. A short 5 min walk to the beach and restaurants in town. Close to local bakery and convenient to grocery store for supplies. We will definitely stay here again. The house was clean and ready when we arrived and it had everything we needed. The kitchen is well stocked and all of the features of the house work perfectly. The back patio is a wonderful place to relax and eat and enjoy the sounds of the island. Lizette and her staff were a pleasure to work with and made the entire process easy. Taxis are familiar with the house and can take you to or pick you up. This place helped me and my friends create lasting memories and I have highly recommended this place to several of my friends already.
This property was perfect for us--Super clean - Excellent accommodations; Great neighbors, especially the cat! Only caution was to park inside of the gate; apparently there has been crime in the area - we had no issues & would certainly stay there again.
“We had so much fun!”
Esperanza is a wonderful little town and we enjoyed every bit of it - including of course the incredible beaches, we had cocktails by the malecon every evening and swam in pristine waters every day. Casa Luna Llena was a perfect place to stay to explore Esperanza and the nearby beaches without a car or too much need for taxis, it's a big, lovely house, 5 minutes away from the malecon and it has everything anyone would need - washer, dryer, big fridge, big rooms, back patio etc. We also had the happy surprise of a delightful kitten from the neighbours, Coconut, who was adorable and always up for playing. We miss him! Thank you so much Lizette for all your care and for the lovely stay.
We feel like home.Close to the beach and very safe location, can't wait to go back again.
“Perfect family base on Vieques”
The house was even nicer than we imagined based on the photos. We had been to Vieques before so we knew the pros and cons of being in Esperanza vs. someplace else on the island, but that's something to consider if you don't know the island. The house itself was very comfortable and worked perfectly for a family with young kids. It would also be great for two families, two or three couples, or a bunch of single people. It's an easy walk to the Green Store, which has groceries, and to the restaurants and bars of Esperanza. It's also walking distance to Sun Bay and conveniently located to drive to the beaches in the nature reserve. The owner and caretaker were responsive and attentive. The only note of caution I would give is that there are roosters all around that make noise starting at 5:00, 4:00, even 3:00 a.m. This didn't bother us too much because we go to Vieques to be in a place that has real life going on, rather than in a resort, but if I had known I would have brought ear plugs. The same may be true of other houses on the island but it's something to consider if you'll be bothered by roosters crowing in the middle of the night.
“Even better than I expected”
The place was spotless and huge with a well-setup kitchen stocked with all the tools one would need for cooking real meals. It was also conveniently located a few blocks from a small store (the "green store"), which is also where many of the bio-bay tours do pick ups/drop-offs.
