“Total luxury with beautifully manicured open space”
Wow. Stay here! We felt like a million bucks staying in this wonderful country stone house. The house was cosy yet spacious and fully equipped... I am talking about pop corn popper status. And the garden was immaculate and inspirational. We have two babies under two and this was the perfect place to let them roam because the terracing is gradual. We spent 90% of our time outside, relaxing, eating, roaming around their property and surrounding trails. If want a relaxed holiday without being bombarded with other tourists, this is your place.
“Another Day in Paradise”
Although we stayed only for a weekend, my wife, two small children and I had an absolutely wonderful stay. The house is beautifully furnished and spacious and the garden is a treat with its size and the various plants. It is a beautifully cared-for estate and you feel all the love the owners put into it. On top of it, the weather served us well and we were all very sad when it was time to leave.
“Une propriété pleine de charme”
Nous avons découvert une maison charmante, décorée avec beaucoup de gout, dans un îlot de verdure. La propriété est bien située pour rayonner dans toute l'Istrie et profiter du calme de la campagne le soir venu. Les propriétaires ont étés au petits soins avec nous tout en restant discrets. Un séjour très agréable et de bien beaux souvenirs.
“Joy of life”
We were 4 days in may at Naša Istra (Our Istria). When we arrived, the host welcomed us with home made bread, Istrian soup and cake... The house is warmly decorated like they live in it, so we felt comfortable. It is in quiet and peacefull location, like we were searching for. The house has a lot of well decorated terrain so you can play outdoor games with children, make a barbecue, or just lie in grass. We were interested in vacation wich includes resting in silence, so we didn't make any trip to surrounding places, but there is a lot of interesting villages, small cities and old castles. Our sons celebrated their birthdays there, and we spent a great time! We would surely come back!
“Beautiful Nasa Istra - The perfect family property”
Istria is a beautiful part of Croatia and Nasa Istra is the ideally located for the perfect family holiday. Ariela and Marin are the most welcoming, considerate and generous hosts. Ariela had prepared a delicious supper of wholesome soup, fresh bread and apple tart on our arrival. They also very kindly took us out one afternoon on their speed boat and met us for drinks in their hometown. Marin and ariela made excellent recommendation of where to visit in the region. Our favourites were the seaside town of Rovinj (best snorkelling near the dive centre) and the hilltop town of Motovun, with spectacular views. We were initially unsure about driving for 3 hours to Plitvice Lakes National Park, however, we were so glad that we took Marin's advice as the park was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been and is an absolute 'must see'. The house is very well equipped and comfortable. Our 2 girls loved exploring the huge grounds and picking vegetables. The local supermarket is only 10mins drive and has everything you might need. There is also a good local restaurant within walking distance. Our 2 week at Istria was one of the best family holidays we have ever had. The house is beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. Nasa Istra is a real oasis of tranquillity and an ideal location from which to explore the region. I have given Nasa Isrta 5 stars, not only for the beautiful property and grounds, but for the genuine welcome and warmth of our hosts throughout our holiday. We highly recommend staying here.
This was our second visit, and it was every bit as good as the first. Marin and ariela made us very welcome,as always, a lovely meal prepared and all home comforts catered for. For us it was like coming home. Relaxing and space for children to run and play and explore nature. For our family it is our perfect holiday destination, where peace and quiet reigns in beautiful surroundings.
“A tranquil family-friendly oasis”
We arrived to this lovely cottage after a 6-hour drive from Germany. The hosts ariela and Marin were waiting for us at the property despite us running late. They made us immediately feel like at home, a home made dinner was delicious. The traditional build of the house evokes times when life was simpler, less rushed. However the cottage is equipped with all the modern amenities ensuring satisfactory comfort. Our kids enjoyed running around and playing in a wast and lovingly landscaped surrounds. We were able to sample vegetables and fruit from the veggie garden and the orchard located on the property. The property is in a secluded and peaceful location, but still only 10-minute drive to a major supermarket and a 5 minute drive to the nearest restaurant. Next time we'll stay longer, one week just wasn't enough.
“Beautiful, comfortable cottage and great hosts - what a terrific”
From the moment we arrived at Nasa Istra for our honeymoon our hosts showed us great kindness. They exceeded my expectations. And what a beautiful quiet area! The house has been built with love and care by them (the photo album is there to prove it) and has character in every single room. The balcony is our favourite part - perfect for a relaxing breakfast or sunset drink. The garden is huge and you can even pick your own veg for tea. A short drive away is a village with a perfectly good shop, and within 10k you have a supermarket. Half an hour to warm, clean seas. I will be recommending this place to my friends and family and hope to be back before too long.
My wife Melinda and I spent only 4 days at Nasa Istra ("Our Istria”) this past June. Without question, this was the best rental wehave had in 10 years of renting properties. And we look forward to returning soon to continue exploring this beautiful part of Croatia and catching up with Marin and ariela, who we came to regard not only as our hosts extraordinaire but also our friends. When we arrived from Ljubljana, Ariela greeted us with a warm smile, hugs, and a decanter of award-winning medica (honey grappa) --- a local specialty from the nearby city of Hum. Also waiting for us was a meal of homemade minestrone soup, a huge loaf of fresh bread, and two carafes of excellent local wine. There was also milk and juice in the fridge, a cupboard full of different teas, plenty of paper products, etc. And ariela was kind enough to provide us with a driving map of Istria, though we had brought our own along. But what's was really unique about this rental is that Marin and ariela have such open and welcoming hearts; they truly enjoy sharing their home and their country with their guests (without ever being intrusive). Further, they were gracious enough to take some time out of their busy schedules to have dinner with us and show us around Kastav, a hill town near their full-time home. This was one of the highlights of our trip, as we spent hours talking about every subject under the sun and learning about each other and our cultures. All things considered, our stay at Nasa Istra was the best part of the trip, and we look forward to returning soon and seeing our friends. P.S. - Bring a nightlight for the upstairs landing so you can see the top steps at night; they're antique wood, and a bit narrower than usual.
