The accommodations at Cactuspad work in the same way as gites in France and holiday homes elsewhere. The difference is that Cactuspad is found at the heart of the Galapagos Islands, the Pacific National Park famous for it pristine ecosystems and fearless wildlife.

Situated in a quiet part of the quaint town of Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island, the main house at Cactuspad was originally built as the 140m, 3-4 bedroom family home of Galapagos Naturalists, Gaby and Paul McFarling. The grounds are frequented by lava lizards and Darwin's finches.

With its dedicated housekeeper, Cactuspad and its gardens provide an idyllic, self-catering option and an affordable alternative to the traditional cruises of Galapagos.

We charge $210/night but offer a one-week rate of $840/week. Additional nights over the week will be charged at $120/night.

We have a travel agency called Galapex, and can help you sort out the flights from the mainland if you wish. This is sometimes tricky to organize from outside of Ecuador! We also work out tours in Galapagos and Ecuador with a great insight into the cruises, being naturalist guides ourselves.

In addition to our home, we are also renting Orchidea: our condo next door! Please ask for details.

The newest addition to our rentals is a superb house accommodating up to 10 people situated in another exclusive part of town. Please enquire for more details!

There are currently problems with the internet service on the island. The demand is high and the service is very limited due to infrastructure. The result is that the internet is almost non-existent during the day. I've found that very early morning, between 3-6am, the internet is reasonable.

During the day, messaging works but downloading any pages just doesn't happen.

If PAUL (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
