Description

Ker Jahkarlo is a b&b run by Fabio, an Italian guy that has been living in Senegal for many years, and his wife Fatima, aka Maman for friends, where they live with their two sons, Ismael and David.
Ker Jahkarlo also houses the Italian-Senegalese association Jahkarlo (www.jahkarlo.org)
The association can offer guided tours of Dakar and of the most interesting places of the country, but also cultural events or artistic stages (music and percussion, traditional dance, batik, wolof, Senegalese cousine, etc).
Moreover, in Ker Jahkarlo you can taste the legendary good dishes Maman can cook for you! 
Ker jahkarlo is located in a quite residential area of Dakar, cité Djilly Mbaye, 50 mt from the very beautiful beach of Yoff and 15 minute by car from the city centre. In less than 10 minutes by taxi you can reach Ker Jahkarlo from the Dakar airport. You can find all amenities in a one-kilomtre radius: bank, hospital, grocery, shops, and public transportation too.
Coming from the airport, once you get to the main entrance of Yoff muslim cemetery, just turn in the street opposite leading to the sea. When you find the basketball court, turn right and there you are! Ker Jahkarlo is the n. 302.
The taxi from the airport can cost you 5.000CFA after bargaining.
If requested in advance, someone from the association can pick you up. This service costs 7.500CFA (11 €).


Ker Jahkarlo is a recently built house on three floors. We have 5 rooms: a double room and a triple room with private bathroom, two double rooms that share the same bathroom, and a big shared bedroom with 6 beds and its bathroom. For the pleasure of our gests there is also a beautiful terrace looking on the sea!
All the rooms have fans, mosquito nets and hand towels; all the bathrooms have hot water.
On the ground floor you will find the reception with publication of all the events held by Jahkarlo association and all the possibile tours we can offer. Tours can be held with a private transport and guided by a member of the association that will masterly introduce you to this wonderful country.
On the ground floor you will also find the dining room and a comfortable living room, for all our kind guests, with TV, DVX player, wi-fi. A wonderful inner court ornated by trees and flowers is also at your disposal to chill out or to enjoy delicacies from our tasty kitchen.
The area nearby offers a sunny beach which comprises traditional-style huts , ideal for some refreshing shadow. Fantastic location to spend pleasant days on the beach and enjoy freshly caught grilled fish!
