Description
In Overkalix, in northern Sweden, 5 km north of the Arctic Circle, 250 m2 thoroughly renovated wooden house for max. 16 people. Suitable for trekking and holidays around the year, below is the great Jockfall Falls. Amazing possibilities for fly-fishing and lure fishing at a very low price 100 Swedish krones per day (approx. 10 €) compared to for example the Teno river. Only a15 min walk away is the Ängesjö River, which also has great opportunities for fishing. In fact, it is one of the most popular fly-fishing venues. No fishing congestions. Kindly bring your own fishing equipment. Good and diverse hunting opportunities on Swedish state-owned lands. The hunting permit is Skr 300. Also fowl hunting provided, a dog available for rent. Please advise when booking. A great place to pick berries. Hostess also available, please advise when booking.
Apartment
The house is also called the Salmon Lodge in Lövgården. It has 3 floors. It is located in a peaceful village setting, in the immediate vicinity of the natural salmon river and the great waterfall (150 m), where you can enjoy and practice experiences in the wilderness offered.
The building has a large hall / living room, kitchen, TV room with CD and DVD devices, as well as pay-TV channels, a hunting bar, sauna, bathroom, living room with fireplace, glazed terrace and large open balconies. Equipped also with oven to prepare smoky dishes and a pit for preparing a Finnish traditional treat: "robber's roast".
The house has a total of 6 bedrooms, each with two beds (in one room ensuite toilet and shower). The two bedrooms each have two beds and the upper berth, one bedroom with 1 bed. Extra beds can be arranged if asked beforehand. The house has a total of 6 showers, toilet facilities are also located upstairs.
Getting Around
By car from Helsinki approx. 890 km. Nearest Airport Kemi approx. 180 km, Rovaniemi airport approx. 210 km. Kemi Railway Station approx. 170 km. Kalix river approx. 150 m, where there are really good possibilities of catching salmon on the waterfall below. The fishingarea in total has a length of 10 km (salmon, trout, grayling, etc.). The actual Jockfall waterfalls approx. 200 m.
