Traditional Kyoto townhouse built in the early Showa era(1931), fully licensed, well maintained and fitted with modern facilities. Situated in a historical town famous for its Japanese sake brewing, including some of the best known brands such as Gekkeikan & Kizakura. The most popular travel spot of Japan Fushimi Inari shrine is also nearby. Beautiful riverside and temples are within walking distance.

Getting around

Coming from Kyoto station(If from Kansai airport/Tokyo/Nagoya etc please take a JR train or bus to Kyoto station first): at the C4 bus platform, catch No.81 bus, it departs every 10 to 15 minutes, from 6.30am to 10.47pm, price ¥230, duration about 30 minutes, get off at Higomachi. Our house is just opposite the stop on the other side of the road, please look for our banner. Coming by rental car: coin parking is just around the corner, 600 Yen per 24 hours. Bicycle rental shop is inside the Fushimi Port Park at Chushojima.

Make yourselves home and please: check in after 3pm, if late at night, please be quiet & considerate as it is a quiet neighbourhood. Check out: 10am. Shoes off at entrance please, we have slippers if you want to wear them. Please leave your suitcases or heavy luggage at the hallway, do not pull them over the tatami floor or stairs, their wheels & weight are most likely to cost damages. Smoking is only allowed outside or at the back garden.

Response from the owner It's about 30 minutes to the central area but 10~20 minutes to the famous temples and tourist spots, so depends what you really want to experience. We have a house manual beside the front door under the window which clearly explains how to lock the door from inside.
