Hidden in the tropical Borneo jungle and perched high amongst the trees with great views of the South China Sea, Hibiscus Beach Retreat's 'Treetops' is a one bedroom self-contained chalet, perfect for couples and small families.
A diverse natural environment of undulating hills and valleys lined with lush forests and a pristine, coral-fringed coastline with secluded coves, white sandy beaches and clear azure waters.
A 5 minute drive from the northern most tip of the island of Borneo, about a 3 hours’ drive north of Sabah’s capital, Kota Kinabalu. Mountain bikes and Stand Up Paddle Boards are available to rent.
It’s all about the Experience! Wake up in the morning, indulge on a breakfast of cereal, bread and local fruits. After an espresso, go swimming, snorkeling, or stroll along the secluded beach...the day is yours and yours alone. Have lunch, which can be delivered, and have a siesta in the hammock or sunbathe on the deck. Alternatively, go jungle trekking, mountain biking, mangrove touring. But make sure you return in time to watch the sun go down with a chilled glass of wine before cooking on your own BBQ or ordering some great local food, from one of the nearby restaurants. So treat yourself to the Hibiscus Beach Retreat experience...you will leave completely relaxed by nature.
DINING OPTIONS
We supply breakfast (consisting of cereal, toast, fresh fruit, fruit juice and tea and coffee).
Secret Place Cafe, the nearest restaurant, is located on the beach in the neighbouring bay and is 5 minutes' by car or 15 minutes' by foot. There are a selection of other local restaurants about a 5 minutes’ drive away, 30 minutes’ walk or 10-15 minutes by bicycle. Our staff can provide a takeaway service from some of these restaurants.
We also have a BBQ which you can use or alternatively we can arrange for a local chef to come and cook you an amazing seafood BBQ!
LOCATION
Just minutes from the Tip of Borneo, Sabah, Malaysia
A 5 minutes drive from the northern most tip of the island of Borneo, about a 3 hours’ drive north of Sabah’s capital, Kota Kinabalu.
The nearest town, Kudat, a commercial fishing port, is a 30 minute drive away. It has a wide range of restaurants, shops and banks, with daily markets, an 18-hole golf course and marina, a fresh fish market and hospital.
GETTING HERE
By Pre-Arranged Transfer - from Kota Kinabalu International Airport / city, we can arrange a private transfer for MYR 350 each way.
By Shared Taxi - from Bandaran Berjaya, Kota Kinabalu to Kudat. Prices from RM30 per person. Alternatively, charter a private taxi from MYR 230.
By Air - MAS Wings operates a 30 minutes flight every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Return flights cost approximately MYR 170.
Self-Drive - hire a car from our preferred rental partner Extra-Rent-A-Car or a motorbike form Go Go Sabah.

You can also go snorkelling (equipment provided), explore some of the best beaches in Sabah and visit the Tip of Borneo, passing through kampungs and the stunning 3 km long beach of Pantai Kalampunian.
We can arrange a number of activities for you during your stay at the villa, including:

• Turtle hatchery visit and release programme
• Rungus Museum visit
