“Cape Cod Cottage”
The “Rose” Cottage was very nice. The exception was the heat, owners had no control of that . There are fans and the sun room gets a nice breeze coming up the hill but the upstairs bedroom… More

Response from the owner This renter left the Cottage a mess! This despite the fact that our Agreement specifies that Renters are expected to leave the Cottage in the same shape as they found it, which allows us to charge a rent that is far lower than any other nearby rental. For the first time in 16 years of renting we asked to keep $100 of the $200 cleaning deposit, This review is the result. The Cottage is nearly 200 years old. There is one hole in the floor in each bedroom, 1/2 inch in diameter that was used to run electricity upstairs back in the 1920's. There are no holes in the walls in the bedrooms. there are some small separations between some of the interlocking boards in the walls that separate the bedrooms so we installed a sheet of wood to cover all of the same. We were at the Cottage the day before this renter came down and there was no 'smell of something dead'. All of the outlets in the Cottage work the upstairs bedroom lights are controlled local on the lamps and also by a wall switch near each bedroom door, The mold on the caulking around the tub has been there for over 20 years it has been bleached, scraped and other cleansers have been applied but we can't remove it. That mold is no danger to anyone. The sink in the bathroom is a pedestal sink and if you push it it rocks a little, there is one towel rack that is loose. As for the beach, I am 70 years old and have walked from the Cottage to the top of the path to the beach in under a minute. The path is steep but there is a railing and 3 level platforms along the way down. The path takes me just over a minute to get down = 2 minutes total.

“Sagamore”

Response from the owner We were not aware that the beach was closed off. Our description describes the path to the beach. Since the storm that closed the beach the path down has been totally redone with flat rest stops on the way down, a railing and new stairs.
