Description

Bayleaf provides even the most seasoned traveller, a truly stunning back-to-nature experience. It is a wooden jalousie cottage, nestled between the trees and looks as if it has grown there, in harmony with it's surroundings. Virtually devoid of televisions and alarm clocks, it is a hideaway from the stresses of everyday living. Lie in a hammock under a canopy of stars and listen to the Atlantic Ocean's roar. It is an easy 10 minute walking distance to some of the last remaining pristine beaches on the island and on some days you can have the beach all to yourself.

Bayleaf offers the comforts of home for couples.. It includes a queen-size bed, locally made wooden furniture, a walk-in closet and ceiling fans. It also includes a kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, hobb, electric oven, toaster, blender, coffee maker and utensils.

Dining is alfresco, surrounded by the trees and chirping of birds in the daytime and chirping of crickets at night.

It also features a private en-suite bathroom with a sunken outdoor shower, surrounded by the trees.

It comes fully equipped with beach towels, portable hammocks, a cooler and ice packs.

For an additional fee, you can get a cooking lesson using the traditional clay coal pot. Renouned author and creole chef, Fortuna Anthony Hubsbands will be happy to show you how.

You can order groceries online prior to arrival and we will be happy to stock them for you at a small fee. Or after pick up at the airport, the driver can make a stop at the supermarket on your way to the rental.

*** We HIGHLY RECOMMEND renting a vehicle specifically an **SUV** if you plan on travelling around the island as many of the roads are a bit bumpy***

The most convenient way to see the sights is by driving around. Rent an SUV or hire a chauffer. You can get to anywhere on the island by bus. The town of Vieux Fort is a 12 minute drive away. There you will find ATM/banks, restaurants, a spa, laundromat, hospital, medical services, gym, and supermarkets

Interaction with guest

We are available during your stay for anything you need or require. The owners and co-host all live 15 minutes drive away. Our caretakers Brandon or Walter will therefore be on the adjoining property during your stay, to take care of all of your immediate needs.
