Description

DESERT HEIGHTS COMPOUND - 3 separate living spaces located on 5 acres close to Joshua Tree National Park. Groups, Family, and Friends can share and enjoy multiple outdoor spaces.

Here are 3 THINGS TO CONSIDER before renting:

1 - PARTIES and EVENTS are allowed with permission. We are in a residential area so we ask all our guests to RESPECT our neighbors and to not be too loud or yell or play loud music inside and outside the building. Also, we expect our Guests to be quiet after 10:00 PM. So if you intend to behave with respect our place is for you.

2 - You will have to travel BRIEFLY on a dirt road to get to the property. The dirt road is well maintained and easily driveable by most vehicles.

3 - Commercial Shoots: anything other than guests taking a few photos themselves for personnel use to share with immediate family and friends constitutes a commercial shoot and a license permit must be purchased along with a county permit, for any reproduction, posting, prints, advertising, or film is not allowed with out purchasing permits.We do allow requests for COMMERCIAL FILMING/PHOTOGRAPHY at a flat rate of $500.00 per day on top of the nightly rate if you wish to stay on the property. Commercial filming and photography is the use of motion picture, videotaping, sound-recording, DSLR/SLR or any other type of moving or still image or audio recording equipment that involves the advertisement of a product or service or the use of actors, models, musicians, sets, or props is PROHIBITED unless you have permission from us; have obtained all the proper SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY PERMITS; and have proper INSURANCE COVERAGE. You cannot exceed the guest limit of 4 staying in the Rocket and parking is limited to three (3) vehicles on the property at all times. Additional guests or crew must leave the property by 8 PM. We advise you to contact us PRIOR TO BOOKING to discuss any plans for commercial filming/photography on the property. We can be reached at (Email hidden by Airbnb)

ACCOMMODATIONS -

The Main House:

Master Bedroom: Queen Bed | Bedroom 2: Full Bed | Living Room: Couch | 2 Bathrooms - 1 Bathroom with tub/shower combo, 2nd Bathroom with walk-in shower

The Bungalow:

Open Living Space: Full-size bed | Couch | 1 Bathroom with walk-in shower

Silver Streak Trailer:

Open Living Space: Full-size Bed | Couch | 1 Bathroom with walk-in shower

We have two single roll-a-way beds that can be utilized in the Main House or the Bungalow

There is also a separate bathhouse on the property with a walk-in shower.

There room on the property to allow for up to 3 additional self-contained RV/Trailers

There is ample space on the property for camping as well. You provide the tents.

Guests will have full access to the 5 acre property

We are great travelers ourselves and we will be happy to assist you when we are in town. When we are away, our friend Patricia will be happy to assist you with all of your needs while staying at the Main House Homestead. Patricia has been a resident of the desert for 22 years and is quite knowledgeable about the area. And we are available to help by telephone at any time.

The Desert Heights Compound at Flying Point Homestead is located in a rural area of the desert with views of the surrounding desert and mountains. The diverse clouds against the blue sky are mesmerizing. The night sky is incredible! The twinkling lights of 29 Palms and Marine Corps Base are beautiful to behold at night.

While relaxing outdoors, you'll likely see desert iguanas, jack rabbits, road runners and other wildlife that inhabit the desert.

While we do have public transportation in town (Morongo Basin bus line runs from eastern 29 Palms to Morongo Valley on route 62), service to the outlying rural areas is difficult. There are several taxi services available though.

WEATHER: We recommend that guests come prepared for the weather here in the desert. In the winter, the days are pleasant but the nights can get rather chilly.

Spring and fall are some of our favorite times of the year as the weather is just right. Not too hot, not too cold. Best to dress in layers.
