Description

Casa Monte Clara is situated in the hills, just a few minutes drive outside the truly charming white washed Village of Riogordo within a 10 minutes drive of Lake Vinuela and only 20 minutes to the beach. The house has been furnished in a very traditional Andalucian style and enjoys breathtaking views of the national park, Riogordo and up to the moorish village of Comares. .Guests return year after year to enjoy the peaceful location, sunset BBQ's and reasonable Spanish local restaurants and bars.

The property has a large entrance hall/ leading to the light and airy open plan Lounge/Diner and fully equipped kitchen. There is a morrocon feel to the Master bedroom with a further well decorated twin bedoom. There is also a third bedroom, which is a single bedroom. Additional sleeping has been provided on purpose made sofa beds in the lounge area . There is a traditionally decorated shower room offering a large walk in shower, terracotta wash hand basin and toilet. Outside a shaded patio awaits. overlooking the local Village , where you can enjoy al fresco dining, whilst enjoying the most amazing views over the unspoilt National Park.The brick built BBQ lets you enjoy cooking, whilst overlooking the pool and views.

You are surrounded by olive groves and almond trees. and the area offers breathtaking scenery. This stunning location is wonderful for simple relaxation, exploring Andalucia & walking. The beach of Torre del Mar is 20 mins. Malaga 35mins and Granada within an hours drive.TV with English channels had been provided-

There are three terraces to choose from, so you can always find sun, shade and views.

We have wifi internet avaialble. June July and August it is included in price, other months, please ask. English speaking channels on TV

We have provided a solid wood dining table for six along with comfy seating for 6 people.
The kitchen has been well equipped for all you could need for inside and outside dining.
You can enjoy English sky channels in the lounge , providing an escape from the mid day sun along with a video recorder and a selection of videos for your use. There is a music centre with a small selection of CD's, feel free to bring some with you.

The pool will be cleaned by us twice a week to keep it in pristine condition during your stay. We will respect your privacy totally.

“Will be back!”

Just want to say what a wonderful villa Casa Monte Clara is, so peaceful with Spanish rustic charm. Spent four days three nights there visiting our friend who is there for three weeks (so jealous!) Everything you needed was there and nothing was too much trouble for Julián and Lisa. Sad to not be able to spend more time there so will just have to come back! Hope to see you again Julian and Lisa Amanda (one of Penny’s crazy friends )

Tranquil , private , stunning views and not too far to get to Riogordo village to stock up on supplies. We try to be there for guests yet at the same time respect their privacy . The log burner is great for those winter evenings , and we are pleased you managed to catch up on your box sets at the same time . Booked this villa for the winter from 7th January to 23rd March and left on the 26th January as soon as we were able to find somewhere else to stay. Be sure to look under the beds as soon as you arriv… More

Response from the owner We have to date 20 plus 5 star reviews. This guest booked for a three month long term Winter rental. The rate charged was based a 3 month rental only. Utility bills to be paid apart. The guest left without settling any of the utility bills. We do offer a weekly rate, which is utility bills included at a higher rate, but she wanted to secure a continuous 3 month rental period at a lower cost. We have our contact numbers in our info book and a section asking guests to inform us of any issues, that they may have or any damages they find, We had no complaint, until 36 hours prior to their departure, where we recieved an e mail informing us , they were leaving as they had found another property to rent, it was too far to walk to the village, it was cold and not winter sun as she thought, the log burner got too hot when used, we offered to go to the house and address any issues she may have had. But she refused. We contacted the rental portal we use , who advised us, that we should be given due opportunity to discuss and if deemed necessary, address any problems the guests may have. Again she refused. As we were satisfied we had followed the complaints procedure indicated by the host website, we offered third party adjudication to review the issues raised . The guest also refused this. The bed bases are of brick construction, with fixed wooden boards, bed base plus a mattress on top. This was dismantled by the guests and we feel that the guest was just looking for anything she could, to complain about , having made an error in the location of her booking. Our location is very clearly explained and our pin location is detailed on the website.

Riogordo is charming, it has believe it or not. 1 hypermarket, 4 supermarkets, 8 butchers, several green grocers, 5 bakers and 15 restaurant, tapas bars. !!! They just appear round every corner. It's best to park up and just wander. The road was a little narrow when you were here, but has been skimmed and widened since, thanks to our lovely Mayor. The ever changing colors thought out the day over the National Park, have to be some of the best amount. Hence the name Monte Clara. CLEAR MOUNTAIN. !!!! Looking forward to your return and thank you for the beautiful painting you left us of the mountain views.
