Full Description:

The Beach House is located in Playa Pimental, El Salvador which is 20 minutes from the international airport. The house is in a fully fenced secure yard with private driveway, private beach access and caretakers live on the properly . The house is a two storey structure, main floor has an open concept living /eating and kitchen, one bedroom and one bathroom. The second floor has two bedroom and bathroom with combination bathtub and shower. One of the second floor bedrooms opens on to a porch overlooking the beautiful ocean view,the porch is also accessible by the second floor landing. There is A/C in all three bedrooms as well as ceiling fans in the larger bedrooms Outside is lawn space, pool, eating area and outdoor shower. Housekeeping is included with the house.

The beach is exceptional because most days you will see few if any people. Only 20 minutes from the International Airport, the main airport for San Salvador, El Salvador and 35 minutes to the capital, San Salvador.

“BEWARE!!!”

Response from the owner Laysi Reyes of Texas we have reviewed your comments and provide the following response. We are concerned the two-day visit did not meet your expectation, as evidenced by the other reviews on the site we take pride in providing a comfortable, safe house for our guests to enjoy. Early in the booking process we had concerns with your visit when you wanted the address of the property before the balance was paid. You sent at least three e-mails with every reason why you required the address, example worked for the US government. Also, you contacted Trip Advisor, and they would not comply with your request This is not our policy, but that of Trip Advisor. At arrival at the house Laysi called Carlos (not sure how she had his number) to advises she had not received directions and got lost and it “was our fault”. Laysi was asked how she found the street and called the caretaker earlier. All information contained in the welcome e-mail, Laysi response "she did not know”? We do not understand Laysi comment “BEWARE, they are not visitor friendly”, The first day there was 6 guests staying and an additional 6 visiting for a total of 12. Feedback after the first day was good and Laysi contacted Carlos to request to have 12 guests visit the next day, for a total of 18 people. Carlos does not normally deal with the customer direct. Concern was raised that this is many people for a small house and using the pool, washrooms, showers. After discussion Laysi AGREED to $20.00 per person for those extra guests that attend the next day. Laysi paid $40.00 as only two guests arrived. Our error was to advise Laysi that this many guests are allowed, the request should have been denied. The contract with her was for 6 guests overnight. We will use this as a learning opportunity for future bookings. We went out of our way to accommodate Laysi and her requests. Laysi expects she can bring guests for the entire day, use the amenities at no charge? Blender was working when Laysi arrived. The blender was overloaded with too many hard objects example ice. The motor eventually burnt out, this is not a commercial blender, but a home blender. We are not required to supply a blender; however, we do for the enjoyment of the guests. Laysi demanded the caretaker replace the blender. Laysi claims stove element were not working, this should have been reported to the caretaker. This was checked after her visit and all the elements were working. Air conditioning is installed in the bedrooms. Any time in the bedroom the air conditioning can be left on. The request is not to leave on when away with the bedroom doors open to cool the house. There are ceiling fans throughout the house and in the bedrooms that can be left on. Very typical in tropical climates Extra towels could have been requested and would have been provided. Laysi did not have a problem requesting and this should have been brought to the attention of the caretaker. To access the beach there is a gate that is open when the guests want. I believe the night of concern, the caretaker asked if it was okay to lock the gate at 10 pm Laysi and guests agreed. Later in the night Laysi and her guests wanted to visit the beach and took it upon themselves to take a ladder from the back of the house to climb over the fence The guests had been partying.  The caretaker heard the noise and came out and advised they should have asked to have the gate open as someone could be hurt. Laysi wanted the gate left open all night which the caretaker will not allow. The gate is locked to protect the guest's safety and security. Locking of the main entrance was advised to Laysi before her stay. Also, the reason we needed a list of guests visiting so they could be greeted and let in. Again, this is for protection of the guests and to not allow just anyone to enter the grounds. This is a third world country that has had a lot of crime, although getting better we still need to take protective action. Laysi does not appear to understand or be aware of this. Majority of guests appreciate the safety and want it This is a rental house. Soap is not provided. Most guests for a two-night stay are not doing laundry and bring their own supplies. This is not a place for outside guests to bring laundry to wash. We know electricity is expensive in El Salvador and some folks(guest)see this as an opportunity to do a free load of wash. The caretaker discussed with Laysi. that the dryer was overloaded with very wet clothes and damaged the belt. The dryer was repaired at a cost of $130,00. Laysi refused responsibility, made verbal obscene comments to the caretaker. The dryer was working with their clothes in it before it stopped. Laysii may not know the guests very well that she invited, it is important to know them as many do not have the same amenities in their home. Laysi advised the caretaker not to enter the house. Garbage removal then would be the responsibility of the guest if the caretaker cannot enter the house. Garbage cans are 20 feet from the kitchen door. If extra services are wanted, example cooking kitchen clean up this could be arranged with the caretaker and wife for an additional fee to them. Laysi you are correct, there is no Wi-Fi, cable or internet. The house is not advertised as having these items. I am not sure why you thought this is included and most guests use their own data. We provide good accommodations at a very reasonable rate. We want guests to enjoy the house and beach, like us but expect them to look after it and respect what is offered. Safety is very important. Laysi, we do not understand your fraudulent comments, not sure what activities could have been fraud? I believe the meaning of fraud has been misunderstood. Laysi you also mention the caretakers are snitches and two faced? This is the first time we have had feedback like this and have not heard the terms snitch since elementary school. I looked up the meaning of snitches “a person who advises authority when someone had done something wrong”” Term snitches can be offensive” Laysi the caretakers are very humble, honest people looking out for the safety of guests, security and protection of the house. They are not going to tell stories on your behalf if you have done something wrong? We agree with you to not rent this house again.
