Description

Cape Verde - off Senegal. You will be greeted at airport and taken to our apartment. Apartments are only 3 storeys high. Brand new high specification fully furnished modern apartment with balcony over the swimming pool. You may also use swimming pools in other areas on the resort if you wish. 5 mins walk from beach. Warm crystal sea, beautiful waves. Good for body surfing. Kite sailing and scuba diving which can be arranged. Warm every single day without exception. Good restaurants and good food.Free Internet available on the resort, private internet available in the apartment (extra Charge). Friendly people. Visit the salt mine where you can bathe in very warm water like the Dead Sea. Fabulous fish/turtles to be seen. You can also arrange for a massage on the beach in town. Visit the top hotel on Saturday and eat their fabulous buffet and dance with the locals! or enjoy cocktails on the roof top bar. Apartment has bedroom 1 with double bed and en suite shower/bath. Bedroom 2 has 2 singles which also form a double if preferred. Shower/toilet separate. Ample wardrobe space. Beds very comfortable and quiet at night. Kitchen/living room/dining area open plan. 2 leather sofas - 1 sofa is also a double bed. Modern dining furniture also on the balcony. Television/DVD machine. Everything you may need is covered - down to egg cups. Cleaning can be arranged. Local shop on site. Other photos available on request.

Response from the owner Thank you for your review on Room 101 Hope I can answer all your queries. The taxi was booked for you to be collected from a hotel in town on the 7th March at 4pm as arranged, the driver had the key to take you to the apartment and show you inside the apartment and help with the luggage, (see previous review) I think at a cost of 3 or 4 Euros this the rate set by all taxi drivers on the Island. On Sunday the 11th March I received an email complaining that the shower head was loose in the holder and that the drain in the second shower was blocked. The maintenance attended on the Monday 12th March and fixed the shower head, just a loose screw that needed to be tightened up and the drain cleared from sand, all this was cleared within 10minutes. Its always difficult to predict these events in advance. There was never any mention of the apartment not being clean at that point. The apartment is cleaned and bedding changed on a weekly basis, there are extra sheets available in the wardrobes as the apartment sleeps 6, these could have been used if required. There was no request prior to your visit to increase the cleaning which could have been arranged if requested. Wi-Fi is available in the apartment although not free Wi-Fi as I think you were expecting, it is free in the public areas, all this information is provided in the pack that is sent to every guest prior to there holiday, when you arrive information was given again by the management services on how to connect to the internet, unfortunately we don't provide devices as everyone's requirement would be different but it is something we can take into consideration for the future. In each bedroom there is a set of quality double glazed patio doors which open from one side, the blue aluminium shutters can be opened and clipped in place to the outside wall if that is what is required, you requested that both sides of the windows be open so the management services arranged for a key to open the second window (usually only used for cleaning and maintenance issues). From any of the opened windows you can see the sea just to the left of the hotel opposite on the adjacent main road. It is a distance away maybe a 10 minute walk so not too far, I'm sorry this didn't meet your expectation. When the cleaners arrived for the next clean you asked them to come back the next day, it was explained that they have a rota to stick to and unlike a hotel where the beds are made up every day, the cleaners agreed to your request and returned the next day. On the third clean, they were constantly verbally abused during the cleaning process and the management services told them to leave the apartment, the cleaners refused to go back and it was explained that there was a zero tolerance on abuse, we took a decision to suspend the cleaning services to avoid any further discomfort to both parties. I'm sorry you had a bad experience in the supermarket unfortunately we have no influence over the events that unfolded during your visit there. All I can say is that we have found the couple who run Falmers are the nicest and most courteous couple you would wish to meet Kindest regards The owner
