Description
Casa Catina is located in the village of Huerta del Barranco, in the natural park of Tejeda, Gran Canaria. The village has recently been nominated by “Toprural” as the first of the seven rural wonders of Spain. With its volcanic scenery, the impressive nearby rock faces Bentaiga and Nublo, and many different varieties of subtropical plants, it benefits from a truly unique natural setting, ideal for relaxing and for many outdoor activities.
The house was originally a medianero’s house, the medianero being the tenant farmer who shared half of the harvest with the owner of the land. Its present owners have renovated it completely, carefully choosing authentic materials such as the cane roof, the Bentaiga stone floor and pinewood from the summit of the local mountain range.
The property has two floors, two patios and a garden. On the ground floor is a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom and a master bedroom with a double bed. On the upper mezzanine floor, which was originally a granary, is a bedroom with two beds and an additional lounge or games room.
The house enjoys an outstanding secluded natural setting. A small access road connects it to the village, with its amenities such as a supermarket, restaurants, health service, bank, etc.
The house is suitable for 2 or 4 people, family or friends.
