Hunter Valley Stays is proud to present The Glen, a recently reimagined 1830’s sandstone convict-built house set on a vast 300 acres cattle farm valley. As one of the earliest properties in the area, guests will have the chance to experience Australian history yet have all the modern comforts and conveniences within.

Your arrival through natural bushland and across a creek causeway to a private valley is just the start of your unique experience at The Glen. Surrounded by split rail fences and expanses of award-winning gardens, this stunning property is indicative of a foregone era and is ideal for a rural holiday retreat for family and friends as well as bridal parties and wedding guests celebrating at the adjacent RedLeaf wedding venue.

With 5 cosy bedrooms and 2.5 modern bathrooms, The Glen boasts a dramatic central high-vaulted ceiling with picture windows taking in the views of the surrounding gum trees. The central open-plan living area awaits with a deep leather sofa and generous armchairs, large TV and WiFi to relax and reconnect with friends and family in front of the wood burning open fireplace with marble surround. Reverse-cycle air conditioning throughout ensures comfort in any season.

Guests will love the stunning and well-equipped kitchen, fitted with custom cabinets and all the modern conveniences for entertaining including large central island bench, butlers sink, dishwasher, wine fridge. The separate dining room with 10-seater circular table is a beautiful space to gather family and friends around to have a special, fireside dinner party. For those that are staying a little longer, a full laundry with washer and dryer is within the butlers pantry located off the kitchen.

All 5 bedrooms have luxury beds with crisp white linen to enjoy a, comfortable and peaceful place to rest your head. These bedrooms share two bathrooms with showers in a crisp classic white décor plus a separate toilet. And, no rural escape is truly complete without an indulgent soak in The Glen’s outdoor clawfoot bathtub with shower located on the rear verandah return with views of the relaxing natural environment.

Sit undercover in all seasons at the colonial dining table on the deep-set verandah which leads up to BBQ terrace, with extra undercover seating and an outdoor fireplace to enjoy stargazing.

Please note that this property is NOT pet friendly and has strictly has a strict No Party or Function Policy.

Access to The Glen requires guests to drive across the property’s small creek causeway. As with all creek crossings, water flow conditions are relevant to rainfall and upstream water events that change the height across the causeway. With this in mind, caution must be exercised at all times when crossing if it is affected by mother nature and larger style 4WDs are recommended and may be compulsory to use depending on the depth and speed of the water. You need to be mindful of this prior to your arrival when rainfall conditions increase, and we will be in touch with you in the lead up to your stay with any concerns, and that safety will be our priority. When higher water and current are present, the property is closed. If access is not available, we will look either delaying your arrival or providing you with alternative accommodation if available. Weekend - minimum 2 nights, 10 guests from $1709 per night (Thu-Fri or Fri-Sat or Sat-Sun)

Midweek - minimum 2 nights, 10 guests from $1282 per night (Mon-Thu)

Infants under 2 are free.

Please note that a $40 booking fee is applicable for all bookings made.

SECURITY DEPOSIT

A security deposit/bond of $1500.00 is required for your stay and is payable as a credit card pre-authorisation. This will be processed approximately 24 - 48 hours before your arrival, so please ensure the funds are available at this time.

LONGER STAYS

Please contact us for a customised quote for longer stays of 3 nights and over.

NOTES 

A 1-night stay may be accepted at discretion of Management within 14 days of the prospective arrival date. A surcharge is applicable on the 1-night stay, this will be calculated by our staff and quoted to you before the booking is confirmed.

Weekend Public Holiday, Easter, Christmas, and New Year periods require a minimum 3 night stay full weekend rate.

Concert and special event weekends in the Hunter Valley will have a set minimum night requirement to stay and may attract a surcharge.
