Orange County CaliforniaAll the amenities of home and a playground for a back yard - per
Left on 01/31/2013 for a stay in January 2013
The "cabin" has all the amenities of home. It has three bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and advertises it sleeps nine. However the sofa bed is horrible, so don't count it as sleeping space. The couple that slept in the sofa bed still have sore backs. The master bedroom with private bathroom is huge with a slider that goes outside to the jacuzzi - which was turned on and heated before we got there - very nice touch! The second bedroom has a queen sized bed and large closet. The third better has twin beds and is obviously a children's room. The second and third bedrooms share a bath room with tub and plenty of storage. Unfortunately, the toilet ran 24/7 which I reported it to the rental company. There is a washer/dryer, however the washing machine didn't work properly. It was disappointing not to be given a sufficient amount of towels which is the reason we used the washer/dryer in the first place. The quality of the towels was like one might find in Motel Six. The kitchen is huge. It includes a large refrigerator, lots of storage, an amazing farmhouse type stainless sink and all the amenities and utensils of home. There is wi fi which worked perfectly, an indescribable game room with full size pool table, poker chips, snow toys and books galore. There is a TV in the game room downstairs, in the living room, the master bedroom and a DVD player and monitor TV in the kids room. The porch was everyone's favorite as it offered views, fresh air and a quiet place to relax. The driveway was steep but we could fit 2 large cars in the garage. We would, without a doubt, return but think I would bring my own towels next time. Btw, the location was not real close to town which was OK - but it was in a really nice area surrounded by beautiful homes.

San DiegoGreat cabin for kids
Left on 01/05/2011 for a stay in January 2011
The cabin is really gorgeous. We had 2 kids, 2 parents, 2 grandparents and an aunt with us, so we wanted a lot of room. The bar and pool table downstairs help you forget you can't go to a real bar because you have kids. The slope next to the cabin provides a perfect sledding opportunity. The driveway is steep and icy, as is the drive up the streets to upper Moonridge. The indoor jacuzzi in the master does not work.

Huntington Beach, CABeautiful Location and a Nice Home to Stay In
Left on 12/10/2010 for a stay in November 2010
Bear Creek Lodge offers an excellent layout for two families traveling together. The upstairs living area and downstairs game room offer lots of space and options for everyone's taste. Please be aware that the driveway is extremely difficult to navigate in snow/ice conditions. Beds were manageable but could have been more comfortable. Kitchen is fantastic with every appliance/tool you could possibly need to make a gourmet meal!

Agoura Hills, CANice cabin, needs some upgrading
Left on 04/02/2010 for a stay in March 2010
My original cabin was given to someone else but the folks at Vacation Rentals got me another cabin and even upgraded me which was nice. There service is really friendly and fast. The cabin was really nice although the heating system does not distribute heat through the all place which was disappointing. I was expecting a little more from a 5 star cabin. The Kitchen was really nice and high-end and they had lots of movies and games to play.

San Diego, CABest XMAS with the kids in years
Left on 01/14/2010 for a stay in December 2009
Enjoyed the experience from the booking thru speedy
check-in and the entire stay. The home was spacious
and had all the fun amenities to keep everyone
entertained. Kitchen was well equipped and loved
the stove. Washer/dryer very handy and cut down on
the need to pack more clothing. Snowed one day so
having the two Expeditions in the big garage was a
relief. Moonridge is beautiful and close to slopes.
Really enjoyed the hillsides all around the home
for sledding. Kids enjoyed seeing the wildlife
right outside the windows, including the two
coyotes that ran thru each day. Everyone is eager
to return as soon as we can. Only complaint by all
of us is how uncomfortable the beds were. Owners
need to invest in better mattresses. One couple
even moved to the sofas on the last night.
Otherwise, the stay was awesome. TM -

Los Angeles, CAAbsolutely wonderful home...except for the driveway!
Left on 01/13/2010 for a stay in January 2010
The house was fantastic and had ample room and amenities for me and my family. We spent a wonderful 6 days and truly enjoyed the home and Big Bear.
The only negative of our stay was that we were never informed (online, by email, or when speaking to your representatives) that the driveway was very steep. More importantly, we were not notified that since the roof has no gutters, when the snow melts, it drips water directly onto the driveway and the entrance of the house. This resulted in the build up of a 3" layer of ice on the driveway. With 4 wheel drive, it was manageable, but one of our vehicles was front wheel drive and that proved to be EXTREMELY dangerous to get it out of the garage once the ice layer had built up. We ended up spinning the car 180 degrees trying to exit the garage. As there is no parking on the street, we were forced to park a vehicle in the garage.
When I spoke with one of your reservation agents, her response was simply, "people should bring chains". Being that their was little to no snow cover on the roads, no snow storm expected, temperatures in the 50s and 60s and CHP and CalTrans not indicating the need for chains, I found this to be an inappropriate response. I think it is fair to say that a driveway is not the decision making factor to bring chains or not when traveling to the mountains.
I would recommend you mention this driveway/ice situation when people rent the house and, at a minimum, keep a few bags of salt in the garage to avoid any potential liability issue in the future.
Sorry for the length of this review, but I felt it necessary to make you aware of the danger of that driveway/liability when it ices over.

Having come from Australia, we found the facilitis great. The house was clean although some attention could be given to ensuring the oven was cleaner and dust balls under the bed removed. Overall very good.
