Pasadena, caAs described, we had a great time
Left on 04/01/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We had a wonderful time and the cabin was great. We took our two 3 year old boys to play in the snow for the weekend and we all enjoyed the area and cabin. The place was loaded with goodies and they supplied a lot of little things we did not think of but were very grateful to find. Would rent this cabin again for sure.

We had such a great time on the pictures the house looks small but when you actually see it n person it is very roomy and very comfy...we didn't even have to turn on the heater the temperature was just right...the backyard is awesome the kids had such a great time sledding on the little ice there was...the cabin had every item you could think of they also had little baskets in the restrooms with items that you could take in case u forgot to bring yours (toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitary napkins, soap etc) it was very clean and perfect for a family with kids or friends.. We really enjoyed our stay did not have any complaints..will be renting from cool cabins in the near future and possibly this same cabin if its available...

Mission ViejoA great Cabin
Left on 01/17/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We enjoyed our stay at Cardinal Ridge. The cabin is very well maintained and obviously cared for by its owners. It had a lot more space than expected- good sized family room and kitchen/eating area, bedrooms were a nice size too. The backyard was perfect for snow play, especially for little ones and they had a cabinet with board games too. There is very little cell reception and no option of a land line, which was concerning if we needed to contact someone in an emergency. The kitchen is "fully stocked" but if you needs sharp knives or anything special (like a potato masher) I recommend bringing that with. Also, if you are picky about your coffee cups, bring your own. There was no place to put a trash bag in the kitchen (no trashcan) which was a little strange. The dishwasher, like most of the things in the kitchen, was about 30 years old (for someone used to new appliances it was hard to tell if we were using it properly.) The floors are very squeaky (a problem only if you are a light sleeper) and there are no vents in the floors to allow heat to come from downstair to upstairs which is a problem if you want your bedroom doors shut at night for privacy (the rooms got cold!). Despite the few things that really can't be changed, this cabin is one that I would love to return to in the future. The location takes about 15 minutes to get to from big bear lake, but the neighborhood is really nice! Cool Cabins the company on the other hand is one that I would prefer to never work with again. From the moment I booked I was unimpressed. They had trouble sending me the contract, and at one point sent me the wrong document and it ended up being a poor review of their company! They are not friendly at all (its not my fault they are understaffed and busy, I expect to not feet like I'm inconveniencing you by using your company). They provide towels (not enough for the number booked in the cabin, and they are the size of a hand towel, so I recommend bringing your own).

The cabin is very cozy, clean, organized and has everything you need as described. There are little notes on a basket that contains personal items you might have forgoten.
Few observations shold be taken though, the heatter is the old kind and is located in the living room, where the fire place is, so it gets really warm in the living room, while the upstairs bedrooms are still cold. They did have plenty of blankets.
The fire place did not have any fire wood and we had to leave in the night to buy some. I have never heard of having to bring your own firewood...
And the location is great if you don't mind to stay close to a cemitery.

One of the best Cabins I have stay in that was reasonable. Need fans upstairs too hot in the summer. Tv would be nice to have in the bedrooms.
Like the location and amenities. Looks like a great place to stay in the winter time! The backyard is wonderful for kids to play and explore.
I plan on staying there again:) -

I agree with a previous reviewer that the cabin is outdated and the upstairs floors are really squeaky. However, the place was clean and everything is in working condition. The water pressure is great and once the heater got going, it heated up pretty quickly. I would definitly recommend this place to someone else and/or stay here again in the future.

We stayed here with our two sons (ages 3 and 9 months) for a couple of nights the weeks between Christmas & New year. The cabin itself is a bit outdated- furniture, fixtures, decor, squeaky upstairs floor. However, everything works, it stays warm & it is stocked with just about anything you may need. There was even sample sized shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. The owner is very sweet and leaves little notes thoughout the cabin, and even lets you pick from her ornament stack. The location is excellent, a quiet residential cul-de-sac right off of hwy 38. We had absolutely no problems with the neighbors, as mentioned on another review. The best thing about this cabin is the small hill on the side of the home and the big backyard. We were lucky to have plenty of snow to play in and my 3rd year old was over the moon.

Cardinal Ridge was very comfortable and clean. The place had necessary items that you may have forgotten stocked in the cabin. It was clean and on a culdasac away from traffic. The backyard has a small slope easy to please small children with sledding. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to friends. Only downfall, the neighbor doesn't want kids in her yard. Its understandable.
