Bear Mountain Chalet is walking distance to Bear Mountain Ski Resort and right across the street from the Moonridge Golf Course, how much better can it get. But it does, because there is even more, it has an inside spa, foosball and ski-ball tables and a cable TV in the first level game room. This retreat has four levels, the first being the game room on the first entry level. The second level has two bedrooms, a full bath and washer only. The bedrooms each have a bunk set (lowers are full size) and a full futon plus one of the bedrooms has a TV (VHS only) in it. They split a front deck with those amazing views of the golf course and the slop...es neighboring the home. The third level is the main floor with fully equipped kitchen together with a microwave, dishwasher and dining table. The living room has a warm gas log fireplace, flat TV/VCR/DVD and the vaulted ceilings and soaring windows offering again those great views!!! The access off the kitchen area to a back deck with charcoal BBQ and excellent snow play right on the property with tall pine trees. The 4th level offers the 3rd bedroom which is a loft overlooking the living room area with a king size bed allowing the views to be taken in. This particular place has all you require for your next escape to Big Bear Lake. This driveway is shared with the neighbor. Chains may be required (regardless of highway conditions) to pull the steep grade driveway in the winter. No pets or smoking please.
Additional amenities include: walk to slopes, groupon fall, skiing, views.Read more

The driveway was not accessible as it was blocked with piles of dirt and two sawed off tree stumps - snow was not even the problem. This was dissappointing.
Inside the cabin, there were many little things wrong, broken or flawed - kitchen, carpet, etc.
Nevertheless, we got it at a good price so I will not complain further. Would recommend for a group of friends or a family with little kids. Not suitable for older folks as it has lots of stairs and many improvements needed.
Not bad, but not great either...

We start off with the driveway being covered in mud and ice making it a scary ride, followed by the neighbors three giant cars poorly parked so it takes 10 minutes to navigate 30 feet. I put in a work order to have the driveway shoveled, no one ever came. Everything is very old and most things smell old. The upstairs bathroom is designed for people about 5 feet tall. Oh, and it is not a three bedroom. It is two bedrooms and a loft. Lastly, crossing the street to Big Bear with kids is scary. So, if you really do not care about privacy, cleanliness or safety, this is the rental for you, because it is very close to the resort.
Fun for small group and close to the slopes

The location is great and is walking distance to the slopes. Although it's 4 stories, the cabin is still small and is really for a small group. It starts to get very crowded if there is more than 8-10 people. the 3rd floor is where the kitchen, dining room table and living room is located, which can get really crowded. The backyard is on a slope, which makes it perfect for sledding if you have children with you. Sleeping quarters and bathrooms are well maintained. Only complaint is that I expected a little more bang for my buck.
lots of fun for snow play and nearby skiing!

The house has a great location and the kids enjoyed the back yard a lot! my only real complaint would be about the first floor which was too cold to be in and the jacuzzi's water was not clean.
Will go back!

Great Cabin but Poor Customer Service
Left on 06/20/2010 for a stay in June 2010 | Andrew935
The cabin was spacious, well maintained, and had everything that was advertised. It was well stocked with kitchen items, linens, and even some movies. The barbecue was practically falling apart, but the rental company got us a new one for our second night. There was something wrong with the water in the spa (weird cloudiness) and we asked the rental company to send someone out to fix it. We called 3 times the first night and nobody ever came out to the cabin. After the fourth call on the second day, a maintenance guy came to fix the spa and get a new barbecue. Even after that, the water was still messed up, but we gave up. I filled out a feedback form when I left outlining these problems but I have heard nothing back from them (2 weeks later). Even an email sent to them was ignored. Still, the cabin was great and the problems by no means ruined the weekend, but their customer service is unacceptably bad.

I rented the cabin for my birthday and it was great!
Pros: Plenty of beds, bathrooms and living space. Steps away from the slopes
and new tv in livingroom. Technicians were available to fix anything that broke
throughout the weekend. Spa was already heated!
Cons:The foosball machine didnt have any balls to play with and the skiball
machine was broken. I had requested to have heaters put in the unit before
arrival on the first floor which didn't get done.
Overall we had a great time and I would recommend this cabin!!!

Overall is OK close to Bear Mountain for walking to the slopes. Had problems with TV in the jacuzzi room never got fixed. No heat in the jacuzzi room either. The driveway is very narrow requires 4 wheel drive in winter to get up the driveway. Would still recommend only advise of above and to bring your own towels for the jacuzzi. Celebrate sons 21st birthday and all had a good time.
A good time.

I went up with 10 of my friends and had a blast. When we first arrived there were a couple small issues to work out but BBV sent out a repair man and had them fixed in less than an hour. The cabin is plenty big, the kitchen is a little small but workable and the back area is nice. The bed are a little uncomfortable. Over all this was a good cabin and you can not beat location with a 3 minute walk to Bear mountain.
This cabin is a good price and great location.

We were very pleased with the location, the size of the house and the layout. The accommodations were fine for a group that is there to ski and isn't going to get hung up over the little amenities. It's no 4 star hotel, but it is decent. Rooms are somewhat crowded, but was ok for teenagers or college age kids. This would not be a good place for a group of 8 or 9 adults.
Jaccuzzi was nice to have, the kitchen was somewhat lacking in pots, pans and serving bowls. Either clean or replace that coffee maker. The TV/vcr/dvd setup was pathetic and needs to be upgraded (for less than $100 you can replace the dvd player).
Overall, the location made the trip really worthwhile and we got alot of use out of the place.
I would stay again with our kids and a couple of their friends.
