Description from the owner

Set in the rural French countryside this ancient stone barn stands in the grounds of a 17th Centuary Mill. The barn has been renovated into a spacious one bedroomed gite.

The charming entrance door opens into a spacious sitting room and dining area, the high wooden A-framed beams and ceilings giving it a feeling of light and space. Wooden deck spans the mill pond where one can relax to the sound of running water.

French doors on either side of the old stone “cantou” fireplace lead onto two “Juliette” balconies overlooking the evergreen countryside. There is also a bathroom and fully equipped kitchen on this level. A ligh...Read more

The location is perfect for exploring the area.

Left on 10/28/2012 for a stay in October 2012

The service was excellent, their knowledge of the area was very good and very friendly and spoke English.
Our Gite Blanc was home from home very well decorated and comfortable.
Very well located for exploring the area, many villages not more than 40 mins away and wonderful food markets which they informed you about in there notes.
Maybe the only pleasant addition in the height of summer would be a pool.
Outside area for having a barbeque is divine.

      A wonderful countryside escape

Left on 09/09/2012 for a stay in August 2012

My partner found this on the internet and we liked the pictures in other reviews so we decided to book it. From the very start of the booking the owner (Heather) was a fantastic point of contact and we were sent plenty of information about our holiday. We arrived and were instantly very impressed by our Gite. The rooms were tastefullY decorated and nothing was missed, arriving on a Sunday we realised we wouldnt be able to find an open shop for something to eat but soon found that we had been left a welcome pack. The main moulin is a stunning building and is set in very peaceful grounds aLong a very quiet country road. The area is very rural and you will always need a car to be able to reach anywhere of significance but we found all the main tourist areas were within about 15-30 minutes. The on-site host (Fiona) is available throughout your stay as a point of contact in France and made us feel very welcome. Simply put this was a first class location and we will definitely be staying here again, you will not be dissappointed with any aspect of this as a holiday location.

The best accommodation in southern France!

Left on 09/07/2012 for a stay in August 2012

The service was world class! We were treated like family and nothing was too much effort. We thought the Gite was great, it had it all - beautiful kitchen, satellite TV, very comfortable with magnificent views - perfect. Our favourite aspect of our stay was the location (notwithstanding the accommodation), we were close to many beautiful and historic villages. There Was lots to do and visit.

The most beautiful, charming accommodation in France!

Left on 08/30/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We stayed in Blanc for a week and didn't want to leave at the end. The accommodation was beautifully decorated, perfectly clean, and had every amenity we could have asked for.

We wont go back to any other place in the south of France other than Blanc.

The location couldn't have been better-it is perfectly located and a short drive to stunning villages which we explored daily. There is lots of information provided in the apartment so our trips were planned on the day-trips to markets to buy fresh produce which we cooked in our kitchen, paddling down the river, exploring local churches, and going to picturesque restaurants. We also relaxed at the apartment, sitting under the trees, reading and drinking wine- everything I could have asked for.

The apartment is a beautiful, renovated classic stone apartment so is wonderfully cool in the summer and I would imagine warm in the winter, with a big fireplace in the lounge.
I could not recommend this apartment enough and am dying to go back soon!!

      Relax in luxury!

Left on 08/20/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We stayed in the "Blanc" Gite in the Moulin de Malecoste for one week. We wanted for nothing and the service from the initial reservation right through to the departure was expceptional! We were kept well informed about our accommodation and directions as to how to get there. The Gite itself was luxurious and set in beautiful, quiet ,relaxing countryside. It was extremely well equipped and the decor was very tasteful and to a high standard. This is a holiday location suitable for people who wish for five star accocmmodation and to get away from it all! Local villages and small towns were a short drive away and all amenities accessible. A car is vital though. I will be recommending this Gite aswel as the the other one and the Main house to my family and friends. Thank you Heather for providing a super holiday location and high standards that are hard to find. I would love a business like that! We will be staying again...

We stayed for 2 wonderful weeks at Moulin Malecoste.
The accomodations are excellent - very tasteful and comfortable. The region is blissfully pastoral. We spent our time cycling throughout the area on beautiful smooth roads, travelling to the local farmer's markets, and sitting on the terrace over our meals. We loved the wonderful warm weather in the summer, and the bountiful fresh foods. The local manager was most helpful. We have travelled quite a bit, and definitely plan to return.
