Contrary to MTV's reality TV portrayal, the Jersey Shore is not an endless frat party on the beach. The stretch of coast that includes the towns of Cape May, Wildwood, Ocean City and Atlantic City are family-friendly vacation spots that folks from New York and the Mid-Atlantic states have been frequenting for years. In fact two Jersey Shore towns claim to be America's original seaside resort. Each town on The Shore has its own distinct boardwalk culture, beaches and restaurants. In the summer, these areas come to life as visitors flow in to enjoy a classic style of American vacation.
Jersey Shore regulars are partial to particular areas, as they each have a unique character. Atlantic city offers casinos and their characteristically over-the-top forms of nightlife and shows; Cape May is a bit cozier, with its own brand of entertainment, fun shops and great dining; Asbury Park is known for its rock clubs; and Ocean City is a more family-oriented destination with kid-accessible amusement parks and activities that three generations can enjoy together.
No matter where you spend your vacation on the Jersey Shore, you're guaranteed to enjoy nice beaches, bustling boardwalks, and throwbacks to the Doo-Wop era and the '70s club scene. The accumulated history of the area can be seen in the diverse styles of architecture and felt in the relaxed attitude of vacationers who come back every summer to enjoy these seaside resort towns that change a little bit each year, but manage to always stay the same.

Exhibits, displays and aircraft are specially designed and located to encourage a truly interactive experience. Bring the kids and the camera and travel back in time to a 92,000 square foot sampling of the 1940’s. NASW Aviation Museum is located at the Cape May (New Jersey) Airport inside historic Hangar #1. The hangar and the museum’s centerpiece, a TBM Avenger aircraft, are listed on the National and State register of historic places. The all wood, double wide hangar was one of six dive-bombing training facilities in the United States from mid-1943 to January, 1945. The defining architectural feature of the hangar is the open wood truss construction used to expedite building time as well as conserve steel during the war years. Guests are in awe of the extensive span of the roof system and giant overhead sliding track doors. In an ongoing effort, great care has been given to restore the hangar to its original 1942 condition.Today, the museum boasts a collection of 26 aircraft spanning the period from early WW II, with the Boeing Stearman, to the jet powered F-14 Tomcat used in Iraq. Visitors can actually sit in and touch many of the aircraft including a Mig-15 and Huey helicopter! In addition to the aircraft, the museum has a wide range of exhibits to entertain and educate visitors of all ages. Children love to climb into the Bader Field Air Traffic Control Tower and talk to other visitors on the museum floor. Many visitors enjoy learning about the Tuskegee Airmen, music of the 1940’s or simply taking pictures everywhere possible.
