Thoroughly enjoyed staying at Ellie's Place.
The cottage is very well presented, neat and clean with everything we needed to have a great stay. The park with the monkeys across the road is lovely.
Everything we needed was close by and it was also lovely and quiet at night.
Kitchen was very well stocked and we had everything we needed to prepare all meals on site.
Would highly recommend this as an alternative to a hotel and we will be back next year.Response from Bronwyn Bishop - 04/26/2013

Perth, AustraliaBeautiful house, great location
Left on 01/28/2013 for a stay in January 2013
A beautifully presented home away from home (far more elegant than my own!) with everything you could possibly need and plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable. Located within easy walking distance of central Launceston, directly across the road from a lovely park, and a supermarket (open until late) not far in the other direction. We were very impressed with the owner's attention to detail, both in the residence (formerly her family home) and in our contact with her.

Thanks so much for the great review, it was a pleasure to have your family stay at Ellie's Place on City Park, the location of the house is pretty special and it is great to see people enjoying it, The 2 bathrooms are a bonus for large groups with the extra large shower upstairs and the very popular claw foot bath with a regular size shower downstairs in that huge bathroom!
Kind regards

The trip to Launceston for 6 friends was made even more amazing by our stay at Ellie's Place. Not only was the house in an ideal location for getting around Launceston, it was decorated in a stylish way to make it feel so humble and relaxing. Spacious enough for the 6 of us without feeling as though we were cramped. Just when we thought we were lucky to have found such a beautiful place to stay we were then blessed with meeting the owner who was a pleasure to deal with and accommodated our requests without any problems. Service was amazing. A definite must for anybody wishing to stay in Launceston with all the home comforts.

My wife and I (with 8 and 11 year old boys) loved our stay at Ellie's place. Communication with the owner was flawless. The home is positioned nicely in town. We enjoyed runs along the river and playing in the park across the street. It was easy to find food nearby and to navigate ourselves in and out of town for exploring. The house is spacious, comfortable, and well stocked. The kitchen was a particular delight since we were traveling for nearly a month and here we felt like it was our home. Stay here!

So lovely to stay in a beautiful and evidently much loved historical property. We were warmly welcomed by the owner who showed us around and gave tips and advice. If you want to stay somewhere that is charming, caters for every need and allows you to feel completely at home, then Ellie's Place is a must. A delightful change from slick, modern properties.
Great location, across the road from a lovely park which has a great play area, a regular train ride, monkeys in an enclosure and beautiful orchids in the conservatory. A for minutes on from there you are in bustling launceston.
The children were open mouthed at staying in such an 'old property' - they loved that it had stairs and a big old clawed bath. We had to fight over who got to soak in the bubbles first!
We were lucky enough to have glorious sunshine - so sitting amongst the flowers in the pretty back garden with a cuppa was a wonderful start to the day. All bedrooms had extremely comfortable beds.
I really can't fault this magical place and will definitely revisit again in the not too distant future.
Big thank you to Bronwyn for making us feel so very welcome and for sharing your beautiful property with us :-)Response from Bronwyn Bishop - 11/22/2012

Thanks Bronwyn for sharing your beautiful home with us. A cosy retreat in the middle of a Tassie winter, seven of us were accommodated in complete comfort for two nights. It was a shame we couldn't stay longer.
Close to everything, but quiet, a lovely walk through City Park into town or down to the Seaport.
Bronwyn couldn't do enough for us. She even threw in a win for Hawthorn. Perfect!Response from Bronwyn Bishop - 09/06/2012

It was a pleasure having you all stay- nothing nicer than seeing families and friends get together for a great weekend. So pleased you got the Hawthorn win- I'll be just as happy when the Tiger's Trent Cotchin wins the Brownlow medal!

We spent two nights at Elle's Place because we saw it rated highly in reviews. We expected something special, but were blown away! This home has been beautifully decorated and the details are amazing. From sitting in the cosy front lounge, to cooking in the beautiful kitchen and relaxing in the claw foot bath! Ellie's place has it all... even a study with an old piano (beyond tuning... but fun anyway:) and you even get monkeys across the road! Only disappoinment is we'd only arranged for two nights in Launceston. We'll certainly be coming back! We'd highly recommend Ellie's Place and the warm hospitality of Bron:)

Excellent accommodation. Comfortable beds, beautiful linen, fantastically equipped kitchen. A delightful back garden, opposite a lovely park and close to everything. Parking was easy if you were out and about during the day. Would love to return with some friends - so cosy and so much thought gone into making guests feel welcome and very comfortable.

Our family of two adults and three boys aged 12. 10 & 8 had a great stay at Ellie's Place this april. The cottage has everything and more that you need for a comfortable self catering stay with family, children of any age, or a get away with friends.
It is directly opposite City Park for a visit to the monkeys, play equipment, or a work out. It is in walking distance to the wharf area, Cataract Gorge and the Mall. There is a full supermarket in walking distance and a bottle shop stocked with Tasmanian wines just across the intersection. What more do you need???
Bronwyn is a delightful host and will make sure you have a pleasant stay. I can't recommend this property highly enough. It will be the first place I look to stay when visiting Launceston in the future.

The purpose of our trip to Launceston was for our 6 week old granddaughter and 2 year old grandson to meet their 92 year old great grandmother. Ellie's Place was the ideal location and atmosphere for such a reunion. We found the house to be very comfortable and very homey. It is truly a home away from home. Everyone that came into the house was overwhelmed by the decor and effort that the owners have gone to to make you feel welcome. There was ample room for the 4 adults and 2 children, and walking distance to supermarkets, eating places and especially the park to play in. I highly recommend Ellie's Place to any one wanting that special touch in their holiday. Thank you to Bronwyn.
