We are frequent visitors to Kauai. Always stay at Kuhio shores so have experienced many of the condos. This was one of the very best. It was well stocked with all the things to make your trip more comfortable. ! The view is always outstanding and the lanai is made for enjoying it. Comfy bed, a TV in both living room and bedroom and a nice shower. All in all, it made Kauai, the most beautiful of islands, even better!

This condo is wonderful in so many ways. Great location, beautifully furnished, and an incredible view. This condo was very well stocked with anything you might need to make your stay more comfortable or convenient. It was very clean and had luxurious linens, towels, etc. The lanai is awesome and we spent many hours watching the turtles, surfers and enjoying the view. It was very quiet and the grounds and building are well maintained. Parking is ample and easy, with nice steps or an elevator. The Beach House restaurant is just around the corner and has delicous food and is the best place to watch the sunset. Bob and Merideth were wonderful to work with and have thought of everything. We cannot wait to return to this wonderful condo on the gorgeous island of Kauai.

Had a wonderful stay at Bob and Merideth condo #313 at Kuhio Shores. It was everything we could imagine and more. To sit out on their Lanai each day and watch the sea turtles swimming below and the surfers out there battling the waves was simply fantastic. The sunrise/sunsets were amazing and the beautiful rainbows we saw were beautiful. We snorkeled daily with the best location on the island being right in front of us. The thought that was given by Bob and Merideth in the decor and amenities was unsurpassed. Bob was great in his communication and information as to what and where to explore on the island. This was definitely a storybook vacation that we had and will have again. Thanks Bob and Merideth

We stayed at #313 Kuhio Shores two weeks ago. My husband and I had done a huge amount of research on condos in the Poipu area as you never know what you're going to get. I'd found another condo in the building but it was a bit tatty. However I was obsessed with the view and the turtles. My husband looked through every website and trip advisor review of almost every condo at the Kuhio Shores. Bob and Meredith's place was perfect for what we wanted. There were two others we liked but that we not available.
Sometimes the websites make it hard to tell if the place is booked so we called and spoke with Bob. We were so happy with his enthusiasm and pride in the place (and having seen photos) we booked it for a week. Bob was very communicative via email as well as when we called with questions once there.
The condo:
The great thing about these condos is that you are so close to the water and the crashing waves that they drown out any potential noise from the other condos, something we had had concerns about with other condos (this is a popular surf area in the summer.)
The turtles can not be talked about enough. They are there all day long from about 6am or 7am until after dark. They are visible and many. My husband and I got equal enjoyment out of watching both turtles and numerous surfers daily.
The condo was very clean and the kitchen was fully equipped and newly renovated. We cooked most days and it was great to be in the kitchen still looking out on the ocean and the view.
The bed is big and comfortable and there is ample extra bedding, pillow etc.
I saw a review about someone not wanting to book 313 because the view of the ocean was through a large opening in the bedroom wall. The wall is pretty much a half wall, you have a very nice view straight through to the ocean and the view is not obstructed by furniture which is all lover than the top of the half wall. Also I'm not sure about other people but the waves can be quite loud and being in a bedroom by the lanai, I would never have been able to sleep.
The bathroom is very nice. I was having trouble with the shower as the hot and cold markings we not overly visible, so if you go, cold is at 3 o'clock and hot is at about 3:10. You'll understand if you are standing in the shower. Now the bathroom has my only con. The pedestal sink is raise on a two inch slab, it looks very nice but is a total and regular toe stubber. So be warned.
The condo has most of what we needed. As well as the great kitchen there were condiments, sandwich bags, foil, plastic boxes etc for cooking and picnicing. There is a safe, beach chairs, boggy board, masks and snorkels, some fins, shower towels and beach towels. A landline with unlimited calling to anywhere in the us. Wireless and plug-in internet.
The area:
There is a lot of snorkeling. if you don't mind deeper water the quietest and really good snorkeling was at the Kuhio Landing. There is good but busier snorkeling at Poipu just to the right of the kids shallow cove and Baby beach to the right of the condos the other side of the Beach House. If you're an excellent swimmer/snorkeler the area to the left of the condos has great snorkeling with turtles but the reef is a little ways out and can be rough with strong currents.
The sunsets from outside The Beach House Restaurant are unbelievable. We didn't eat at the restaurant but we heard the food is great and at the $30-$40 entree price range. If you want to eat here I would call before your visit to make a reservation because it gets slammed especially for sunset dinning.
There is security here all day and into the evening and he maintains the grounds beautifully. The beautiful grass area around the condos is off limits to random people wanting to just drop by and BBQ (although I don't know what the rules are for Bbqs on the patios of the ground floor condos.) Security was immediately on a group of people setting up for a party out front and moved them off quickly.
Parking is ample in the condo lot and there is an outdoor shower and tap to rinse off. There is laundry on most if not every floor and elevators make it easy to get your luggage up and down.
Ok enough of the long winded review. I do this because this in the type of information I'm looking for when trying to decided whether to stay somewhere or not. -

We loved our stay at Kuhio Shores 313. The views are fabulous. The condo was more than just comfortable, it was beautifully furnished and more than met all of our needs, we did not want to leave. Enjoyed the peacefuness and serenity of the sounds of the ocean from all of the rooms. Traveled around the island and saw all the main sights. Went snorkeling outside, enjoyed the beach and had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant right next door...all without having to get into my car! Wonderful location. Will definitely return. The owners were great to work with.

Wow, whe n we opened the front door our attention was immediately drawn to the spectacular oceanfront view. We spent vall week enjoying it.
In addition the condo itself was incrediblt elegant yet comfortable. Every day we enjoyed a local Kauai activity such as snorkeling, hiking, a boat ride up the Napoli coast and at the end of the day we looked forward to returning to the condo. Much enjoyment was had from the lanai itself.

This oceanfront condo has everything you need for a wonderful vacation in Kauai! It is right on the ocean, the views from the lanai are spectacular. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The condo is beautifully decorated, comfortable, and has all the amenities. My husband is in a wheelchair so we were concerned about everything being accessible, it is ( although the wheelchair must be 27 inches or less to fit in the bathroom.) Bob and Meredith were very helpful in answering any questions we had. The snorkeling just a short walk away was the best I have ever experienced! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in 313.

Well we arrived home to cold rainy weather & I can't believe 2 days ago we were walking around in tank tops & flip flops, watching whales, turtles, & beautiful sunsets from our lanai.

Our flight came in after dark so the condo was our first impression of Kauai - wow - we were not disappointed! The decor is relaxing and modern and very clean & organized. The layout allowed a view of the ocean whether sitting in bed, cooking in the kitchen or lounging in the living room. We loved standing on the lanai, which was about 15 feet from the ocean, and watching sea turtles in the morning. Kuhio Shores is a great location - the best snorkeling on the south shore is next door in front of the Beach House Restaurant - which is also one of the best places to take in the sunset. Can't imagine a more perfect place to stay -we're already planning our return trip!

I'm not going to lie, my husband and I are spoiled. We are used to traveling and staying in 4 and 5 star hotels. Our usual haunts are The Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton and Grand Hyatts so it was a little different for us to decide to try a condo for our vacation in Kauai. My husband, Alan and I were getting tired of the lack of privacy we had in a hotel and it seems that the nicer the hotel the more we felt "invaded" by chamber maids, mini bar stockers and yes even beta fish feeders!
When we saw unit #313 on the Internet we fell in love with the pictures and only hoped that "Our Oceanfront Paradise" was even half as nice in person. After talking to the owners, Bob and Merideth, their enthusiasm and pride in their condo put our minds at ease and we took the plunge and are forever changed!
The minute we entered Kuhio Shores #313 we knew that we made the right choice. Bob and Merideth made us feel like the most important VIP guests. I don't have the words to describe the amazing environment that we were surrounded by. The Pacific Ocean is the obvious centerpiece, however 313 protrudes further than any other unit in the building, the result being nothing to interfere or distract us from the magnificence of the thunderous waves or the abundance of marine life visible from the lanai. Tourists travel from all over the Island to see the best sunsets on Kauai and we just strolled out to our lanai to experience the same spectacle. We've never had this view or privacy in any of the Hawaiian hotels that we've frequented in the past!

What a wonderful place for us to honeymoon! After our many adventures during the day it was such a relaxing place to come "home” too. One of our favorite parts was sleeping to the sounds of the ocean waves. The views of the ocean, turtles, surfers, sunrise an sunset from each room and lanai were all just amazing. I could not think of a better place to spend out honeymoon. We will remember it forever. Thanks for providing such a beautiful place. We loved our time here and hope to return.

The rental is beautifully decorated with comfortable furniture
and bedding. Everything we needed was there...beach towels, beach chairs, a fully stocked kitchen, and lots of fans, as the unit is not air-conditioned. The candles were a lovely touch for evenings while enjoying the roar of the ocean on the porch. The location was perfect for snorkeling, viewing turtles, hiking, surfing, shopping, etc. -

I just arrived at the most wonderful vacation spot of my life, Kuhio Shores #313.
A panoramic ocean view just 20 feet from the lanai. For those of you who want a wonderfully located and beautifully furnished unit this is the place to be.
I sit here on the lanai watching the turtles below, five of them, listening to the crashing of the ocean waves. Unbelievably surreal and relaxing.
Went snorkeling just outside and was like being in an aquarium. Then just relaxed on the beach. Had dinner next door at a wonderful restaurant while watching the sunset.
The owners obviously take pride in their unit and were fantastic to work with. Everything is as represented and actually much much more than I had expected.
I know I am not going to want to leave.

Great updated condo with fantastic views of turtles and surfers from the lanai! Great snorkeling with turtles right outside the building! The condo has everything you'd want for a visit. There is no a/c, however, we didn't need it at all. We left the windows open and listened to the ocean every night.

We stayed one wonderful week in this well appointed unit. We loved the location and especially enjoyed watching the sea turtles and surfers from our lanai. Although it was very warm, we were comfortable with the generous number of fans. The bed was extremely comfortable and what a treat to wake up to the sound of the ocean waves and the incredible view. Everything was high quality and we felt relaxed and very comfortable. We loved our stay!

This place was fantastic. Bob and Merideth were a pleasure to deal with. For example, my husband accidentally broke a light fixture...I let Merideth know right away and offered to either compensate her for a replacement or pick up a replacement myself, to which she replied "don't worry about it one bit". Within a day the building manager came and replaced it. Problem solved. Very painless.
This place was never too hot or cold, has a beautiful view and has everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay.
We actually spent a lot of time on the lanai counting sea turtles, watching the surfers during the day and the geckos and stars at night.
You're a short walk from all the amenities of the Poipu Beach area and if you don't feel like walking, a very short drive.
Loved it. Weddings are so busy and we are really grateful to have had #313 at Kuhio Shores to relax and unwind in. -

This condo is absolutely breathtaking! My favorite part of the vacation was waking up every morning, greeted by a view of the ocean and the sound of crashing waves! A close second favorite was sitting out on the lanai, drinking kona coffee in the morning or wine in the evening, watching the turtles swim up to the rocks, not ten feet from where I was sitting. The condo is a perfect mix of open air and ocean environment, meets a comfortable and home-style feeling. Bob and Merideth did an incredible job providing any amenity you could imagine-- from beach chairs, boogie boards and coolers to state of the art cookware, a wine cabinet, and even a tray to serve breakfast or coffee in bed, if the mood should strike.
On to the surrounding area... the best snorkeling on the island just happens to be 50 feet, or a one minute walk, from the condo. Poipu beach was our favorite, and we even managed to see a monk seal! There are also a number of wonderful restaurants in the area. Our favorite cheap lunch spot was Bubba's Burgers. Go to Keoki's Paradise for a more upscale dinner with a romantic ambiance. Puka Dog is also a must. All within 5 minutes of the condo!
There are not enough nice things I can say about our experience in unit #313! Bob and Merideth were incredible to work with. Their love for the condo is evidenced through the attention paid to every detail, guaranteeing that any time spent in the unit is sure to be magical! We are counting down the days until we return!

Paradise for this single gal to get some much needed rest and relaxation.
The condo is absolutely beautiful. The pictures are great but the actual condo is a true work of art. You can tell the thought and loving care that went into every detail. I felt so at home. Some days I just wanted to hang out at the condo and did just that. Waking up to the incredible views and the sounds of the waves was magical.
The baby whales welcomed me the first night. Watching them was fascinating. I felt like I was dreaming they were so close. I feel blessed to have seen them.
Poipu is the nicest place on Kauai. Also, the best place to snorkel on the island and just footsteps away. I snorkelled, kayaked, hiked through some of the most beautiful places known in the world. By far the all time best adventure I have ever had was the Zip-Line over the tree canopy's 200 ft above where they filmed Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park. Amazingly Cool!!

Loved this place, everything was new and very considerately furnished. Location, location, location. If you don't care about spending your $ on resort features, and want to have the BEST oceanside view, watching turtles and surfers up close, this is the place. Well maintained grounds and bldg, close walk to other attractions, it was perfect. Hope to return for a longer stay.

We walked in the door and saw a wall of glass with the ocean behind it. What a view! We were in condo 313 at Kuhio Shores. It very nicely decorated with comfortable furniture and a wonderful king size bed. From the lanai we watched the surfers, the turtles struggle for a meal, and whales in the distance. The condo had everything we needed and was in a good location to go either way as we toured the island. We also saw double rainbows a few mornings. If you get up early enough, you could see sunrise. The sunsets were beautiful. The owners were great to work with and very cooperative with my special need. There is a good beach a short walk through the parking lot for kids and snorkeling. We did miss not having a swimming pool. I highly recommend staying at Kahio Shores and in 313 if you can. You couldn,t get much closer to the ocean without being in it.

Bob and Merideth have out done themselves with the renovation of unit 313 at Kuhio Shores. The view of the ocean allows for whale and turtle watching from the patio. From the morning sunrise to the evening sunset one can enjoy the company of the many freindly guests. Kahio Shores is close to shopping and resturants. Thus making unit 313 a perfect place to vacation.

If you're looking for that quiet get away with incredible views and a great location on beautiful Kauai, look no further than this condo. Incredible views of the turtles swimming directly below and quality surf breaks directly out front. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and the condo was recently upgraded and beautifully remodeled. This would make a very romantic escape for that special honeymoon or vacation. Highly recommended!
