Anahola house

“Awesome location, perfect place for the getaway/hideaway.” When it came time to leave, my wife had to pull me out, with me kicking and screaming "I"m not gonna leave!" all the way to the airport. The house/cottage had everything you needed, just like walking into your own home. We even got to feed the two fish in the aquarium :-) Just a short, easy walk through a couple of backyards, over the creek on a bridge and you are at the beach ... all of which is magnificent beauty in itself. We took the beach chairs, towels, boogie board, snorkel gear, noodles, whatever they had and we 'needed' with us. Found 'our' spot on the east (right) side under a huge tree that provided all day shade. We walked right past a huge sea turtle sunning himself on the beach. Most of the time we were the only ones on the beach, even if there was somebody else, it is a large bay, you still felt alone. The drive in should require a high clearance vehicle (four wheel drive maybe if it is really raining hard, just get an SUV or Jeep) but, it is a single lane dirt road the last bit of the way ... which just aided the sense of remoteness. We had no problem getting in and out, just planned our day around the in and out. There isn't a grocery/convenience store nearby so we just planned that accordingly as well. They also had a backpack (which we used daily), umbrellas (which we never needed), all the pots, pans, microwave and kitchen stuff that you would typically find in your own cottage. The huge/mammoth tree in the backyard covers a huge part of the lagoon, and provides you with an awesome shaded retreat with amazing solitude. The Star fruit were ripe, we'd never had any before, we took advantage ... yum. We were there for 8 nights, we ran out of time ... we never got a chance to get in the pool, heck we had the ocean. More left to do the next time. Moloa'a Bay is the perfect Kauai location, lush valley without the excessive rain of the north side, yet close enough to everything around the island. We'll be back!

“This is a beautiful place to stay” We stayed here for almost 3 weeks. The house was very clean when we arrived. The cleanest I have ever experienced in over 10 years of renting homes. I had a few items that I needed to call about. The rental agent immediately answered her phone on a Sunday morning and was happy to help.

“spoiled” my husband and I had a GREAT time here, the house was beautiful and comfortable. The beach was great for walks and photos. We watched whales from the beautiful lanai. The beds, sheets and towels were very nice quality. This Island is spectacular, so much to see and do and having. a great place to go back to after a long day of sightseeing made it even more special. We spent the remainder of our vacation on the big island and we were very disappointed and actually tried to re-rent this house but it was booked.....this is where spoiled comes into play. Can't wait to go back and do plan on renting this beautiful house again. Thanks for a most memorable vacation!!!

“Wonderful house” Garden Island Properties generously helped us find a very last minute vacation rental. We really enjoyed our stay at the Hibiscus Hula, even with the rain :) It's a really great house! We appreciated the character of the house, the cleanliness, the views, the hot tub, the location, the quiet, etc. We are grateful to have found an affordable, wonderful vacation house !

“Paradise!” My better half and I spent an amazing week at Hale Makai. The house is beautiful with every amenity we could have asked for including a full kitchen stocked with everything any cook would ever require, washer/dryer, boogie boards, snorkel gear, chairs, umbrella, etc. But the finest amenity is the best and easiest beach access we've ever experienced. In fact, the beach access is so easy at Hale Makai, that I would roll out of bed every morning (in my boxers), walk out the back door, and in less then a minute my feet would be in the refreshing water of anahola Bay. So comfortable there that I doubt I'll ever be able to do that again anywhere else. I highly recommend Hale Makai and can't wait to return.

Hanalei house

“Heavenly Hanalei Haven” Until this trip to Kauai, I had always found peace and quiet in the little green cottage behind Rainbow House. Traveling with friends and family required more space than the lovely little Garden Cottage, so we upgraded this year. Did not expect to find all the comforts of home in the lovely yellow house out front! Built-in zen, including a fully stocked kitchen for my son the chef, Ipod docking station and internet connectivity for those of us who need to sneak a peek now and then, hammock and rocking chair for those of us who don't care about connecting to those back home while hiding out in Hanalei, board games and books, amazingly comfy beds with a variety of pillow options... and more. Not to mention the easy walk to the beautiful Hanalei Bay and the little grocery store. If you find my heart there, I definitely lost it...

“Wonderful way to relax and enjoy Kauai” This house was spectacular. With three bedrooms/baths, we had room to stretch out and everything was kept in immaculate condition. I've never found a kitchen so well stocked either. They even provided shampoo, conditioner and bath gel. Had I known that, I wouldn't have carried mine on the plane;) The only downside is the small garage and the crazy way you have to get into and out of it, especially when the maintenance truck is parked behind you. Otherwise the spot was great, just across the path from the pool, and it was fairly quiet.

“Great for families!” This was a perfect house for a Kauai vacation. Close to groceries and restaurants, and Hanalei town but also easy access to main highway to other parts of the island. Super short walk to Queen's Bath trailhead. Plenty of space, clean, house had everything advertised and then some, with a great play structure out back for the kids, tv/wifi, kitchen, laundry, etc. awesome to have a home base from which to explore, and then come back and relax. Also a short walk to St. Regis with a nice quiet public access beach as well as amazing views from the lobby - took kids to the beach and then had coffee here one morning. Would stay here again, hands down. Owners also very responsive and booking process easy.

“Amazing” My wife and I used the cottage for our honeymoon. Our stay was perfect, the cottage was well located on the best side of the island with shopping, food, gas and beaches nearby. The cottage had all the appliances and amenities we needed for our week stay. There are many places to stay on the island but this cottage is amazing it is your own little place away from the bustling overcrowded homogenized resorts. Our favorite town, Hanalei, was just down the road where the views, bay, beach, shopping and eats were all top notch. Reserving and booking the cottage was a breeze with Val and Bruce, ensuring a worry free trip. I would highly recommend the cottage to any couple wanting to get away, but not be trapped in a resort! My wife and I certainly plan on visiting again. Mahalo Val and Bruce for the amazing getaway!

“Marvelous, relaxing vacation in delightful, comfortable Hawaiia” Halle Reed is everything you wish for in a Hawaiian rental home. This charmingly appointed, clean, comfortable, well provisioned and well located home, a short walk to beautiful Hanalei beach, is a delightful vacation choice. Tv, a large selection of books, games, and CDs provide ample rainy day entertainment for all ages and the well furnished loft (from which you can view the lovely sunsets) provides additional "spread out" space. Owner Sally Reed takes pride in maintaining her home and a hands on interest in the comfort of each guest. We thoroughly enjoyed a splendid stay at Halle Reed and highly recommend it.

“better than expected with incredible view” We decided to try the north side of the island this year and looked at probably every rental option available in the area. We decided on Hanalei Bay Resort with condo 9304/5 through the Parrish Collection and could not be happier with our choice. The condo actually looks better in person than it does on the website. The seperate entry foyer was an unexpected pleasant surprise. I presume this is unique to this particular unit and is a beautiful addition. The condo is tastefully decorated, well maintained, and very clean. The kitchen shows signs of some wear but is very well stocked should you decide to actually cook in it (we never cook on vacation). Having a washer and dryer was a definite plus. The view from the balcony was indeed priceless. The unit is closer to the water than we expected from the photos. Something to consider, however, is that because of the design of the building, the balconies are not completely private. You will see and most likely hear your neighbors if they are out when you are. Adding unit 9306 would have created more privacy. The resort itself is quite beautiful. The property is very well maintained. As stated in many reviews, there is no parking within the resort itself which we felt to be a definite plus. We used the shuttle carts often (related to an ankle injury) and found them to be very efficient and the drivers friendly. Nice job guys. Our only disappointment was that the restaurant/bar and front desk were still not completed when we were there. I can't imagine why the completion is taking so long but feel it will be a huge improvement when it is. Without a doubt, we would stay in this condo again.

About Anahola

With beautiful beaches, friendly locals, and a wide range of sporting and cultural activities, the charming Hawaiian town of Anahola has it all! You can find unique art galleries and some of the best authentic Hawaiian cuisine on the island on Main Street, while outdoor activities and nightlife options are spread across town.

There's more than enough to do here to fill a vacation itinerary, but here are just a few of the must-see destinations in the area:

  • Go Snuba Diving: Try out this sport that is similar to scuba diving, except that the tank floats above you instead of on your back.
  • Kauai International Theatre: Enjoy the wide range of live musical and theatrical performances featuring some of the best actors and performers on the island.
  • Anahola Beach: Go swimming in the crystal blue waters, or rent a board and take a lesson with one of the local surfing pros.
  • Davison Arts: This charming gallery features pieces from up-and-coming artists throughout the state.
  • Mountain Tubing Adventure: Head to this local theme park just outside of Anahola.
  • Waimea Canyon: Referred to as the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific," there's no shortage of hiking trails and scenic views here.

No matter when you decide to visit Anahola, there will likely be events and festivals to take part in both in and around the area. Cheer on the hundreds of racers competing in the international competition known as the Kauai World Challenge in May, watch the top Hawaiian slack key guitar artists perform during the Hawaiian Slack Key Festival in November, or sample the handcrafted goods from top Hawaiian designers during the Garden Isle Artisan Fair in March.

Rather than stay in a hotel, consider booking one of the many vacation rentals available in the Anahola area. Rent a high-end condo with luxury amenities that's just steps from the beach, or opt for a property that puts you closer to the cultural attractions and authentic local cuisine that can be found in town.

The island of Kauai is small enough that you can reach anywhere on the island within 90 minutes by car. If you have some extra time to explore the area, be sure to visit the array of art galleries in Hanapepe, the quaint village of Kilauea, or the secluded Lumahai Beach.

River Front Seclusion in Magical Moloaa-TVNC#4200
Truly Magical

Our stay at Summer Hale at Moloaa was tranquil and a small piece of paradise. The house was well kempt and comfortable. We enjoyed spending time on the deck as well as the outdoor living areas. The bed and pillows were comfortable. You can hear the waves crashing on the beach, which was relaxing. The walk to Moloaa Beach would have been short, but the bridge was out of commission during our stay. However, the provided 2-person Kayak was a great way to get to the beach! The house is surrounded by palms and other trees, so it felt very private. The neighborhood is quiet with the exception of the ubiquitous roosters of Kauai and chirping of the cute geckos. We enjoyed the lime, citrus and star fruit during our visit. We also enjoyed the company of the fish in the fish tank. The owner was very communicative and answered questions prior to our stay very promptly. Highly recommend a stay here!!see more

So relaxing

We had a marvelous time at the Hibiscus Hula. That anahola is a quiet local community really made the experience. The swimming is great, the surfing better than our skill levels, and the snorkeling poor (but better elsewhere). While walking the beach in front of the cottage we saw a monk seal, whales breaching, and native ocean birds (and the ubiquitous chickens). You really can't go wrong with this place.see more

WOW! We can't say enough about this property. a billion dollor view and more.

Our family had a Fabulous time But i think next time we'll make it a romantic getaway for just the two of us. At least for a 2 couple of days. When we would leave to go sight seeing we could'nt wait to get back to this private oasis. You're perched up on a bluff with very unique views of the ocean waves coming in as well as seeing them go by.It's hard to take your eyes off of this spectacular reef with all it's beauty as it changes with the tides. It's a great place for snorkling and just steps away from the beach. Their a with lots of nice patio furniture in to enjoy different locations to enjoy the scenery and have a B.B.Q. We love listening to the waves while having a glass of wine under the star studded sky. It is so dark some nights you feel like you can touch the stars and when the moon is over the ocean you can see the waves at night. It's AWESOME! The house is older plantation style, but that's ok with us because a newer home on this property would probably rent in the thousands per night. We loved the new french doors leading from the kitchen area and front bedroom to really catch the trade winds. It was nice to have 2 T,V,s ,one for the kids in the back room and a 60in. in front room. We did use the Wi-Fi on occasion and you should bring a cell phone. there is no phone service.Over all we had a terrific vacation with lots of family fun and a great serene place to relax. I would highly recommend it for your next vacation.see more

Family Vacation

Incredible. If you are looking for a relaxing time on a private beach with the sound of waves constantly reminding you slow down then this is it. We spend 10 days with our 3 kids (2,8,10) at this home and had the best family vacation. We were centrally located to explore everywhere but the best times were had hanging at the house swimming and sleeping and playing.see more
