“So relaxing”

Reviewed 14 Mar 2014

We had a marvelous time at the Hibiscus Hula. That anahola is a quiet local community really made the experience. The swimming is great, the surfing better than our skill levels, and the snorkeling poor (but better elsewhere). While walking the beach in front of the cottage we saw a monk seal, whales breaching, and native ocean birds (and the ubiquitous chickens). You really can't go wrong with this place.

“Wonderful house”

Reviewed 26 Feb 2014

Garden Island Properties generously helped us find a very last minute vacation rental. We really enjoyed our stay at the Hibiscus Hula, even with the rain :) It's a really great house! We appreciated the character of the house, the cleanliness, the views, the hot tub, the location, the quiet, etc. We are grateful to have found an affordable, wonderful vacation house !

“Peaceful Retreat”

Reviewed 21 Feb 2014

This is the second time we have rented this cottage, and we have loved staying there each time. It is perfect for 2 or 3 people, especially if you like having a kitchen at your disposal. We like the location between the north shore and Kapaa. Greg and Sue are both very friendly and helpful.

Response from the manager Mahalo for your review! Thank you for returning to Hibiscus Hula Cottage! This restored vintage cottage we feel is a great get away if you want the alternative from a condo or hotel! We look forward to your return! aloha!

“A very charming and relaxing cottage!”

Reviewed 31 Jan 2014

We were so happy to find the Hibiscus Hula Beach Cottage It was exactly what we were looing for! We wanted to find a cottage or cabin instead of the resorts- somehere with more privacy It was perfect! The cottage was very charming with all the amendities It was very clean, simply furnished with a full kitchen - we cooked most of our meals there! Every morning we sat on the front porch drinking coffee looking out to the ocean as the sun rose at night we slept with roar of the ocean and woke up to the crowing of the chickens It was so relaxing!

Response from the manager Mahalo for your review. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the Hibiscus Hula Beach Cottage. We look forward to having you back again!! Mahalo nui loa.

“Our Hawaii Home”

Reviewed 19 Jan 2014

We stayed at the Hibiscus Hula Cottage for 9 nights over the holidays. It is very well appointed and located in a quiet neighborhood in anahola. We loved eating in the kitchen with the view of Kong in our window and going to sleep at night with the roar of the ocean across the street. The location is ideal-quiet and away from the condos and resorts but only 15 minutes north of grocery stores and restaurants. We loved our time in our "Hawaii House" as our 3 year old called it. We hope to stay there again!

“Awesome cottage!”

Reviewed 28 Nov 2013

Was a great place to spend a week and a half! Quiet and peaceful location literally across the deadend road from the ocean. Nice patio to drink morning coffee in the am sun. Great shower :) enjoyed hot tub with beautiful mountain views. All around great place and highly recommended!

Response from the manager Mahalo and we look forward to your return to Hibiscus Hula Beach Cottage. aloha!

“Great Experience!!!”

Reviewed 18 Oct 2013

We stayed in this cottage the first week of October 2013 and had a wonderful time. We were glad that we could talk to the owners before reserving. The home was clean, well maintained, and had all the amenities that we were looking for. We explored the island during our stay and this rental's location made that easy. The beach is just steps away and we went to sleep listing to the ocean. If you want the privacy of a cottage and a good value this is the perfect rental.

Response from the manager Mahalo for your review........We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay at the Hibiscus Hula Cottage and look forward to having you back!

“A great rustic Kauai hideaway”

Reviewed 12 Jun 2013

We really enjoyed our stay at this great little 1950's rustic hideaway. + Great location + Nicely set up cottage + Great ambiance - Place needs a good "spring clean" - Washer and CD player needs replacement - 2nd bed only suitable for shorter people - Street light needs screening off from shining into main bedroom

Response from the manager Mahalo for your review of the Hibiscus Hula Beach Cottage. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the cottage. The washer is a small stack washer and works well but does not take large loads. The 2nd bedroom is a trundle twin bed as noted in the description and fits a regular twin mattress. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the Hibiscus Hula Cottage location and ambiance. Aloha! PS CD player will be replaced...mahalo for the heads up!

“His favorite place on earth!”

Reviewed 16 Feb 2013

He didn't let me write "our" :))! No words can properly describe our incredible stay in this little piece of heaven in anahola! We never took the time to write a review before, but this place more than deserves it! Incredible place, very clean, all you need for a perfect romantic vacation. Wonderful to fall asleep listening to the ocean and waking up peacefully to the roosters! The beach is fantastic, we felt like it was ours! One day I counted 12 people in the all beach and jokingly called it too crowded, and Mikee said "this sucks, way too many people here"! It is a must to go buy great organic food at the local farmers markets, cook some incredible meals on the grill while drinking cocktails, star gaze from the hot tub, take a walk on the beach at night and watch the moon rise from the ocean! Thanks for the attitude adjustment! Mikee and Isabel

Response from the manager Aloha and mahalo for your review! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your little "piece of heaven" in Anahola. We do agree that it is a special location. Glad to hear you enjoyed star gazing from the hot tub, bbq'ing on the grill and the walks on the beach! We look forward to having you back!

“Great house, great owner, awesome chickens”

Reviewed 7 Feb 2013

My wife, 2.5 year old son and I had a wonderful stay here. I hesitate to write our review because I wish I could just keep it our secret. Greg, the owner, made sure we ha everything we needed. The beach is across the street, the hot tub is cozy, and the chickens, aka jungle fowl, greeted us each morning with enthusiasm. A great location from which to explore both sides of the island. Way homier than a hotel or condo. We highly recommend this place.

Response from the manager Mahalo for your review....we will try to keep your "secret"....We do agree the location is very favorable for those who prefer in a private residence vs a condo and the easy proximity to the north and south ends of the island. The beach across the street is beautiful for morning sunrises! aloha & mahalo nui loa.
