Description
Our house is located right on Lake Rousseau. This is a reservoir lake made in the early 1900s. The 12 mile long lake is fed partly by the 141 mile Withlacoochee River and the crystal clear, cool Rainbow River. Borrow our kayaks or canoes and go explore the waters.
The house is in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood that is very rural. Of course the main attraction is the lake. Lake Rousseau is a bird watchers lake, a fishing lake, and a paddle boaters dream. The added bonus is having the Withlacoochee River flow right through the lake.
The lake house is also situated conveniently for day trip exploring. It's 25 miles from I-75, 8 miles from Dunnellon and 11 miles from Crystal River. Each town boasts its springs and rivers but Dunnellon is special because of the Rainbow River. This river is great to paddle board, kayak, boat cruise or do like the vast multitude and just float down the cool waters in your inner tube. It's 7 miles in length and is fed by springs, some of which are magnitude one. Big! If you bring your motor boat you can just leave the lake house dock and enjoy the ride upstream right into the Rainbow!

My neighbors are great people and would gladly help you with ideas and information. Please treat them well by maintaining the quiet atmosphere that is naturally there.
Please adhere to the NO SWIMMING rule. The lake holds alligators and you shouldn't tempt an alligator with food or by swimming. Also, the lake has stumps slightly submerged and some slightly above the water line. Diving is just plain dangerous so NO DIVING.
