Description
Despite what it says above, rates are about $50/900 pesos per night for 30+ nights, $66/1200 pesos for less time.
We renovated our traditional 200-year-old adobe home 17 years ago, adding a rooftop "sky room" where we sleep when we're there, which also functions as a second "sala" and an office space...with views to die for. Note: no bathroom on this floor.
Our ground floor has a bathroom with shower, back bedroom (queen-size bed) with view of church dome, "middle room" (double bed) (curtain between back and middle rooms), and separate "front room" (single bed) that doubles as a mini-living room. There 's also a fold-down sofa for extra guests.
The middle floor (where we spend most of the day) has a full kitchen (with 3-ring gas burner, microwave and toaster oven), colorful sala (living room) (another fold-down sofa), small bathroom with shower, and patio, with lush plants and fountain.
Our patio has stairs up to the "sky room" (double bed, which has front and back terraces, both with amazing views of city, church dome, and hills.
Our home is in a ideal location-- central but quiet. We are two minutes up Tecolote, a fairly steep pedestrian-only street, and a five minute car-free walk to Jardin Union (the town center).
Our bilingual property manager DJ can arrange for an airport pick-up if you choose, and will be available to answer questions and fix problems if they come up. We have a handyman he can call if necessary.
Lidia, our (wonderful!) cleaner, comes in once a week to clean top to bottom, and once or twice a week to water the plants.
Note: we used VRBO to list our property until April 2021, when VRBO stopped servicing Guanajuato. We always received 5-star reviews. Here's the last one on VRBO:
"This was truly our home away from home. Naturally the house and the location are incredible. We had everything we needed and the view cannot be beat. The convenient location was important to us as I was 9 months pregnant and walking was difficult. At this location it was easy to go out for short excursions and to quickly get things we needed. We loved the home, especially that it is a combination of outside and inside, for us outdoor lovers it's the perfect way to live. We will stay in this home again if we come and recommend it to anyone traveling to Guanajuato."
