Vacation in Downtown San Miguel The location doesn't get any better than this.....right downtown! Just 1.5 blocks to the Jardin (town square) You're close to all of San Miguel's attractions and restaurants. Downtown is the safest place to be in San Miguel with all the activity, street lights, security cameras and police presence. A hard to find location, especially at this price! There aren’t even many hotels this close to the town square.Watch the parades and fireworks from the roof terrace. Prepare a BBQ meal while you're there. Best seat in the house!

Come enjoy the comfort and convenience of The “Artist's” Studio Apartments in beautiful downtown San Miguel de Allende. This listing is for the Diego. We have another listing for the Frida. Both are on the second floor of an original colonial building (with all the conveniences and updates!)

As charming and comfortable as these studio apartments are, perhaps the best part is their central location in downtown. Just a short stroll to the jardin. You'll be amongst lots of activity, police and well lit streets. . Walk everywhere or take one of the many taxis right at your front door. Enjoy the spectacular view on the shared roof terrace (with gas BBQ). Enjoy front row seating for all the parades and Centro festivities. Restaurants and shops galore right at your front door. All the best Spanish schools are nearby. Professionally managed property. Someone is available 24 hours. Maid service weekly for those staying at least a week.

Response from the owner Firstly, I would like to mention that Trip Advisor awarded this apartment a Certificate of Excellence last year. As for the shower, normally we hear that our shower is the best they've had in San Miguel because of the water pressure. This guest took very long showers that overwhelmed the drain pipes. We have never had this complaint from a guest in 7 years. Our maintenance person sent the plumber out twice to check the drains and they were clear. So we have now changed the shower head to a water saving device so this doesn't happen again with people who like long showers. As for the sink stopper, we have replaced the stopper. All she had to do is ask. Our management company is on call 24 hours. I don't know how it is my fault that she decided to fly into Guadalahara. I could have told her that it was very far away, had she asked, but she didn't. There are 2 airports to fly into that cost just $28 via shuttle. She should have done her homework better on this. Of course a private car will be expensive to go that far so she had to take a bus and was mad about that. The maid comes twice a week, on specific days, in a seven day period. She just happened to have her once due to the way it worked out with her 6 day stay. Air conditioning is very uncommon in San Miguel, even in high priced rentals. And again we accomodated her by bringing her the second fan. The listing says the apartment is on the second floor. She accused me of not telling her that and it's right there in black and white. This is not a staffed building so if people want help with their bags, they need to ask for assistance and we're happy to help. She was a very unreasonable guest and impossible to please, no matter how hard we tried. Just generally, a very angry person. I would never rent to her again.

Response from the owner Fortunately I was in San Miguel when this review came in so was able to personally see what the guest was talking about with the sink and stopper. I have to admit I am stumped. The stopper works fine and the water comes out with a very small radius due to the hard water in San Miguel. Usually, we have people who help with the suitcases upon arrival as someone meets the guest at the apartment. Perhaps they were challenged bringing the suitcases downstairs when they were picked up to go to airport. At least they must have had fun shopping given the 48 pound suitcase!
