Description
Our vacation home in Donegal, Ireland is situated on the road between the heritage town of Ardara and the lovely village of Glencolumcille in west Donegal - about a 3 hour drive from Belfast Airport and Larne ferry terminal and about 3 hours 30 minutes from Dublin Airport and ferry terminal.
This traditional Irish cottage is well over 150 years old but has all modern conveniences, including high speed free WiFi, full bathroom with separate shower, and ensuite shower room to the master bedroom with power shower. There are two further bedrooms, both with double beds (bedroom 3 has small double - 4ft / 120 cm wide). There is a traditional fireplace in the living room, and a fully equipped kitchen and utility/ laundry room.
The cottage is situated in a very rural mountain area, extremely peaceful with beautiful mountain views and only 15 - 20 minutes drive from fantastic beaches at, among others, Fintra, Glencolumcille and Narin / Portnoo. The breathtaking beach at Maghera, complete with caves, is very close by. There are also some great golf courses in Donegal.
Please note that the garden is a haven for small wildlife and as such may be uncut at times.

“Donegal week”
Countryside and location was beautiful. Cottage very well kitted out and loved the living room especially for relaxing and reading in evenings. Unfortunately we lost all power from cottage on Thursday afternoon until midday Friday which posed some challenges around cooking and showering during that period. Apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay

It’s one of the few drawback of this beautiful remote area, electricity and water systems can sometimes fail, though it’s rare and usually they are restored fairly quickly. “Perfect getaway”
A beautiful and peaceful location, perfect for a mini break with friends. The cottage is much bigger inside than expected, beautifully decorated with lovely pieces of furniture. Beds were super comfortable. Everything needed is supplied. Plenty to see and do in the immediate area, visited waterfalls, two stunning beaches. The area is very scenic. Great care and attention to detail has went into this cottage, thanks for a lovely break.

Clean, comfortable and homely. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Returning to the cottage in the evening was a real treat, turf fire, good book and a big mug of tea, bliss!! One of our most enjoyable holidays

“A hidden Gem”
Where do I begin? A wonderful stay from start to finish. Very well equipped with instructions for heating etc. Location perfect, half way between GlenColumkile and Ardara on a most scenic route with the best views. Yes you need a car but this is Donegal, everybody needs a car! Easily found from instructions. Great comfy living room with open fire. Be sure and get some local peat. We will return which is the highest compliment I can pay.
