“Fantastic location slightly disappointed”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2020

We stayed in the lodge as a couple for 2 nights, we couldn’t fault the location and the view from the front door was just breathtaking. Having Smugglers Creek on the doorstep is a major bonus. The lodge had everything we needed, the shower is no more than a trickle however and needs updating and the bedroom was very dark with only a tiny window and covered my undergrowth that meant you couldn’t see daylight. How disappointed were we with the cliff top private garden, to start with it is across the road which isn’t in any description of the lodge. I had difficulty locating it because it is completely overgrown and uncared for. Table and chairs tied up, weeds, rubbish, rusted bbq that was only fit for the bin, empty beer bottles lying around. We certainly couldn’t use this space to watch the view or even relax with a coffee. It looks like it has been intended for a long time and not just as a result of lockdown. While we loved the location we would not return to the lodge again.
