Description

This charming Cape Cod style home is situated on a private, idyllic acre on a quiet country lane. You are a 5-minute walk from Lambert's Cove Beach, considered one of the most pristine and beautiful beaches on Martha's Vineyard, yet only 10 minutes from towns, restaurants, and shopping. Relax and dine on one of the houses's two large decks in complete privacy, surrounded by beech trees.

The interior is freshly painted and filled with comfortable, high-quality furniture. Downstairs is a front-to-back fireplaced living room, large kitchen, dining area with room for 8, and full bath. Upstairs are 4 bedrooms and a second full bath. There are hardwood floors throughout the house, and ceiling fans in the bedrooms (sorry, no AC). The walk-out basement has laundry facilities and a ping-pong table, and a new, spacious outdoor shower is perfecting for cleaning off after the beach.

Enjoy cooking? The kitchen is well equipped with a waffle maker, electric griddle, blender, coffee grinder and Cuisinart coffee brewer. In addition, there is a lobster pot, bowls and platters, salad spinner, and a full set of pots and pans - all the comforts of home.

The house is uniquely situated as it is walking distance to three swimming areas. It's a 5-minute walk to the Lambert's Cove Beach parking lot, a resident's only private beach with miles of untouched sand dunes. This beach has fine sand and beautiful scallop shells. Because it is open to West Tisbury residents and tenants only, it is never crowded. Sunsets on this beach are the best on the island. Your rental includes two family beach passes. Walk to the beach, or drop off the kids, cooler and chairs, and leave the car at the house!

Enjoy swimming in crystal clear glacial ponds? Manaquayak Preserve and Seth's Pond are also less than 10 minutes' walk from the house. Manaquayak Preserve is one of the newest Martha's Vineyard Land Bank properties. This 12-acre property contains a pristine, glacier-formed kettle pond originally called Ice House Pond. Seth's Pond has a sandy beach and is quite popular with young children. Bring the pails and shovels!

This is a great set-up for families with young kids. In the basement you'll find a portacrib, high chair, stroller, kids' toys and books, saving you the hassle of bringing these items on your travels. The previous owners of this house received consistent five-star rental reviews; we hope to continue their tradition of providing terrific accommodations!
