Description
The Old Schoolhouse is located in the Carrickfinn peninsula of beautiful West Donegal, an area of spectacular coastal scenery.
While maintaining the character of the original building, the Old Schoolhouse has been renovated, tastefully decorated and furnished to provide quality self catering accommodation.
The schoolhouse had one classroom. This is now used as the living area and has the original fire place, one of the old school desks and copies from roll books.
A tV, dvd ,radio and a variety of books are available.
WiFi and Netflix available
The overhead mezanine is a big favourite with our visitors. It has its own library, and is often used a little getaway area.
The dining area is spacious and bright.
Kitchen and utility room fitted with all modern appliances
3 large bedrooms (2 ensuite) . 2 bedrooms are on the ground floor.
Sleeps 6 + 1 child/baby
Bed linen provided free of charge.
Towels provided to overseas visitors.
Cot, travel cot, high chair and stair gate available.
Bathroom on ground floor.
N.B Electricity and o.f.c.h are metered. Meters are read
on visitors arrival and departure and charged as per usage.
Turf provided free of charge for evening fires.
Sheltered deck with garden furniture.
Very quiet and peaceful area, safe for children.
Carrickfinn is a peninsula, with many golden sandy beaches, the White Strand/ An Tra Bhan, having Blue Flag status.
Ideal for seeing all the attractions in our beautiful county.
Ample parking
We, the owners, live nearby and available if any problems arise or our visitors need our help or advice.

“Loved every second”
We stayed for a short time but everything was perfect, the host's were wonderful, the beaches were close and the hose was cosey clean and had alot of room

“Beautiful setting”
The house was spotlessly clean and had great facilities. It was in a great location. Close to some beautiful beaches and bays. The owners were very hospitable. Friendly and obviously very proud of the area. The down side was the extra electricity and heating charge! A reading is taken on arrival and before you leave. We had been there 2.5 days and charged €20 which equates to €240 per month. I think the owners should put their prices up to include these costs, because I'm sure like me, a lot of people will not return or recommend to others, having felt they'd been ripped off.
