I have admittedly had an excellent stay at villa Nefeli. I rented the villa for my wife and two children who went there a week before I did. The funny story is that since it was our first time in Crete, I thought that by the time I would go to rethymnon, my wife and children (aged 12 and 15) would have explored the island a bit and some sort of a schedule would be expecting me. False. As I was told the car we had rented was not used for four days. All three of them spent their days at the villa which has a very comfy swimming pool and in the evening they got to know the locals or play piano at the living room. I had some really and emotional good time with my family while playing piano and singing. I barbecued at the roof terrace where I enjoyed brilliant sunsets and views of the Aegean sea with my wife with some wine. The local raki was too strong for me but they have some pretty good vineyards in crete and the wine is not that bad.
The villa is at the entrance of a secluded village called Loutra. my family had attended a couple of the small events organised by the villa and by the time I arrived they felt very close with the locals. As I found out the Kallergis family which owns the villa I rented, date back to the Byzantium era and they are very well respected by the locals in Loutra, as are their guests at the villa which at the time was my family. I liked that.
The inside of the villa had some excellent features in some parts, was very spacious and well maintained. The end result of which was to return from my holiday with my wife giving me a lengthy –and costly!- list of things she wanted to change in the house.
Both ours and our children’s bedrooms were enormous, with their own bathrooms each and well lighted. I must indeed congratulate publicly the Kallergis family for the excellent work they have done with the house and for offering to us a home away from home.

FranceGreat Trip to Crete
Left on 05/04/2010 for a stay in June 2009
We went to Crete with a nice group of friends. 3
couples. Decided to rent a house rather than go to
a hotel, and we were extrememly happy about that
choice. From the moment we arrived at the Villa,
everything was perfect. 3 beautiful spacious rooms,
a nice swimming pool to lounge by during the hot
summer. The bbq's we had were amazing and
everything was set to make our stay the easiest
possible. completely hassle free and total
relaxation. as for the location it was perfect.
Being our first trip to greece, we just came from
athens by boat which was a lovely trip. I
personally recommend the boat rather than plane if
you're not in a hurry as the views are just
breathtaking. The area where the house is located
is calm and peacful, so many flowers all around. We
even had the opportunity to tour an olive
plantation where we got to taste fresh olive oil
which is possibly the best i have ever tasted. We
visited a few cultural sites which are all very
nice and the area is so pitoresque. The beach was
nice and not too packed when we went which was
great as we had gone there on a trip to relax and
resource ourselves. Strongly recommend renting a
car there to be able to visit the area freely and
to get around. People are very nice and everything
was perfect. Definetly going to plan another trip
there, and hopefully go with more people on the
next trip as to allow others to enjoy this little
paradise.

Lyon, FranceMaison de rêve
Left on 05/04/2010 for a stay in May 2009

Paris, FranceGreat holidays in Villa Nefeli Kallergis
Left on 04/25/2010 for a stay in August 2009
We have enjoyed our holidays thanks to Villa Nefeli Kallergis. This is a wonderful house full of nice things...this is one of this times you see photographs on the internet, you go there...and it´s better!
The setting is perfect- just 3km inland in a tiny village with beautiful views over the bay to Rethymnon and the olive groves. The house was perfect for our family (2 adults, 3 children) and the pool was a good size and clean. On our arrival, the accommodation was very clean, tidy and fully equipped. The independently controlled a/c in each room is definitely a bonus. We ate all our meals outdoors with panoramic views from the terrace.
The Kallergis family are really nice and helpful. The village is very peaceful and the people extremely friendly and generous - despite the language barriers.
We found that we were ideally placed to visit Rethymnon, Chania and the west of the island (a car is a must if you want to explore) and in 1 hour we could get to Heraklion.
So if you look for a quiet place far of touristic life in a typical village, Villa Nefeli is the house. All in all, the accommodation suited us perfectly, the rental process went very smoothly thanks to the owner's helpfulness, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. thank you for everything!
