“Exceptional, Peacefull, Relaxation” This is the cleanest, most spickspan house we've ever rented for vacation! We are a family of four with a 20 and a 15 year old. Fully airconditioned in all rooms, even though we preferred to rather have windows and doors open during the days and enjoy the continous breeze from the sea. The view down to Rethymnon and the sea from both, the rooftop veranda and the ground level veranda, is breathtaking and ever so soul-refreshing. The villa is fairly high up on a mountain. The owners argiro and Nikos put every effort into making your stay pleasant and memorable. Due to a telephone in the house they can be reached anytime for advice. They show real pride in their villa and Nikos lovingly takes care of the garden, pool and watering the plants daily. When one of the outdoor chair covers ripped through normal wear and tear it was replaced within 24 hours with a smile; that's service! A special mention: the beds are comfortable!! One problem we encountered was the extremely steep driveway. Our rented car (1.3 ltr petrol)got down, but couldn't get back up without help. We returned it and got a car with decent engine power instead (1.4 ltr turbo diesel); plain sailing from there on thanks to the friendly service of Car Rental Crete in Heraklion. Argiro and Nikos are very friendly, open people with lots of heart. Thank you for a lovely holiday!

“Cretan Hospitality and Memorable Holidays” We have enjoyed a lovely week! The villa is wonderful, much more comfortable than anywhere else we stayed at in Greece. The surrounding area is beautiful! We have enjoyed lazy days by the pool, watching the swallows drink the water! Lapa and the White mountains were very interesting and the scenery was amazing. Rethymno is well worth the visit for eating and shopping. Eva and Stratos have been wonderful hosts and have made us feel very welcome! Thank you Eva for the delicious edible treats, we especially enjoyed the breakfast cake and Eva’s own olive oil!!! The Old Monastery - studio DANAI
A relaxing quiet space high above the city

The Old Monastery is situated on the edge of a small village high up in the hills above the lovely city of Rethymno. A small number of apartments are grouped around a central courtyard and pool with views across the valley over the olive groves and down to the Mediterranean. We visited in high summer and although the earth in the fields was baked by the sun, the apartment was cool and we didn't have cause to use the air conditioning. Our apartment was spacious, clean and extremely relaxing. In fact we struggled to leave it and the equally peaceful courtyard. When we did venture out we enjoyed walks in the hills and wandering around the narrow streets at the foot of Rethymno's fortress. The Old Monastery's owner anna welcomed us and we knew we could ask her for anything we needed. Unfortunately we only stayed for a few nights and were sad when the time came to leave. We can certainly recommend it as a quiet and relaxing place to unwind. … see more

Peace and beauty

We stayed already two times in this beautiful villa. The villa is very quiet, although there are some other villas nearby. These are far enough and situated lower so you can enjoy a complete rest and breathtaking view. The villa is large, pretty and comfortable with a nice pool. A car is necessary because of the location. A must for lovers of peace and yet close to sea, mountains and a few minutes drive from a lot of nice tavernas. … see more

Beautiful villa with amazing views

Immaculate villa & gardens which had everything we needed.The bedrooms were lovely and all had aircon. The pool area was private with amazing views. Only a 10 minute drive into Rethymnon. A peaceful countryside Villa with an exceptionally welcoming family.

We stayed here for 5 days mid-point in our month long trip through Greece, and it was one of the nicest places we stayed in. There are three villas; we stayed in the smallest, Villa Maria, which had two bedrooms (with patio), a functional kitchen, living and dining area, bathroom and large patio, with wonderful views over the neighboring valley. Since it was summer, we spent most of our time outside on the patio. The villas are extremely quiet, being about 45 minutes walk to the nearest village. You do need a car, both to get here and to travel out, pick up supplies etc. The villas are within easy driving distance of the north and south coasts, and the amazing mountains of Crete. Meeting the family that own the villas is certainly one of the best parts of staying here. Eva is an amazing cook; don't miss the opportunity of having her cook a meal for you. We arrived here earlier than expected on the 1st of May (which is very much a family day in Greece), and were somewhat concerned that we were disturbing the family. But this was not a problem, in fact we were invited to join the family meal, which was one of the most memorable experiences we had a Greece. A particularly welcoming family. Not to be missed. Absolute Pleasure!!!

Village of Prines,{pronounced Priness),was a great base to explore both hinterland and beaches. Villa Sofia was magnificent and our host Manolis Del was extremely helpful,always available by phone but quietly unobtrusive. Our Villa was a beautifully restored 200+year old home updated with regard to history, located amongst village homes. The Villa had every amenity in perfect order to ensure our stay was memorable.
