Description from the owner
This lovely 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom house including casita, has just been redone with influences from India, Thailand and of course, Mexico. The owners have traveled the world to decorate this house with a colonial feel. The house also includes art and folk art by local San Miguel and other Mexican artists.
The house is located in Ojo de Agua, just south of Juarez Park and is a 15 minute, flat walk into town. You get the luxury of being close, but the serenity of being removed from the hustle and bustle of the historical district.
The house has a lovely garden with fountain and an interior light well with a second fountain that...Read more

Chicago, Illike living inside of an "Architectural Digest" magazine!

this beautiful home is perfectly located with the interior spacious and beautifully decorated for comfort and elegance. Each room is designed with care to details and pleasing the eye - but is relaxing and inviting. The multiple garden/balconies with flowers and fine landscape welcome you as an extension of the home. Staff is gracious and helpful - caring for your needs and when requested preparing a Mexican gourmet meal. The only regret is leaving! I have stayed here many times and have loved each visit.

torontoGreat Expectations--Surpassed!
Left on 07/25/2010 for a stay in February 2009
To actually find a place which turns out to exceed all expectations and is actually more beautiful than the pictures convey! Our San Miguel experience would have been wonderful even if we had never stepped outside of the house and its lush garden where we often had a sunny lunch prepared for us by our housekeeper. We've stayed twice, and look forward to returning again next winter to the comfort and charm of this beautiful colonial home, obviously loved and cared for by an owner of great good taste. His wonderful housekeeper maintains the house spotlessly, and cheerfully did all she could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

ChicagoThis home makes our vacations special
Left on 07/07/2010 for a stay in January 2010
You know that feeling you get when you have the perfect vacation accommodations...the "oh my gosh, this is fabulous" feeling? That's the feeling we get when we walk into Casa Quijote! This was our second stay at this home, and we loved it just as much this time as we did the first time. It is beautifully appointed, with all sorts of special touches from local artisans, so one really feels a part of the San Miguel community. It is spotlessly clean, and wonderfully comfortable. And Francisca prepares a great breakfast, with local dishes and delicacies. I love having my morning coffee on the patio. We like that it's not right in town, so it's quiet, but it's only about 15 minutes walk to get to the center of town.

The house is absolutely beautiful. Every room is unique and full of local arts and crafts. It is a wonderful place for a family stay or retreat. It has a wonderful terrace off the dining room which is delightful for having coffee in the morning or drinks in the afternoon. The house staff was very friendly. The town is lovely and there is so much to do there. Beautiful architecture and scenery.

Left on 06/23/2010 for a stay in November 2009
I spent a very relaxing week in San Miguel with good friends. We were guided to some wonderful shopping experiences and enjoyed the culinary talents of the staff. It was a five star experience in a lovely, well cared for private home. The staff was helpful and the stay was exceptional.
