Dolphin Boutique Villa is your Caribbean home from home, tucked away in a secluded spot across from a uniquely unspoilt beach in upscale Bacolet Point. This stylish, spacious villa, full of the vibrant colours of the Caribbean, has a garden with so many lovely flowers -which makes it perfect for bird-watching-that passers-by ask to take photos.

Once you arrive at Dolphin Villa you will receive a warm welcome from the Tobagonian manager who manages the villa. As you listen to the gentle plashing of the waves and marvel at the sight of hummingbirds and other amazing birds (Tobago has more species than square miles), your cares will be forgotten. Now you are ready to experience the laid-back island vibes and immeasurable beauty of the place.

Chill by the 41' pool, relax on cushioned loungers while watching hummingbirds enjoy the Cape honeysuckle and butterflies fluttering round the zinnias; or just hang out in the hammock, swaying gently to the sound of the surf.

The hustle & bustle of city life is forgotten. No need to rush to the shops. You can book dinner for the first evening; The manager/ chef's fish is legendary (he buys it the same day off a boat at Pigeon Point),so is his red bean stew! Alternatively you can pop to the nearby Havana Bistro, or prepare for yourselves in the huge, superbly equipped, kitchen

Slip into the pool after dark and marvel at the stars and the fire flies. It is 3 minutes to the beach where from March to September you can look for leatherback turtles that nest on Minister Bay beach.. Back from the beach, the Hibiscus room's massage shower will prepare you for a perfect night's sleep.. Next morning wake to the sound of the sea and the birds. An early morning walk on the beach close by is a favourite way to start the day. Relax by the pool all day. Watch the plasma TV or listen to the music system, which has I Pod docking and flash drive so you can enjoy your own music, while sea breezes waft into the villa. Or arrange trips to bird-watch, to the rain-forest, on a glass-bottom boat, or a deep-sea boating expedition-all with the manager's help. No mean angler,as a young man he crewed on a boat that caught a record-breaking Marlin. One group of guests from New Mexico not only marvelled at the relatively cheap cost of deep-sea fishing, but caught 12 Tuna in only 4 hours.

Alternatively, you can enjoy an active life; a round of golf or scuba-diving followed by a beach party, or taste the local night life; or just chill at one of the many fabulous beaches, enjoy a local dish or two, and then swim or snorkel to your heart's content.

Determined to make you fall in love with his beloved island, the manager will do all he can to make you comfortable. Attention is paid to the little things that matter; flowers in your room, candles, coolers, even a sewing kit. Nothing is too much for him- he will do as much or as little as you wish- help with car hire if you want a small run-around , show you the beach, accompany you around on the first day if you would like that. He can advise on the best places to visit and where to eat, and will buy in groceries ready for when you arrive.

Why not come and experience Carnival, or goat and crab races at Easter? There are fishing tournaments, yacht and power boat races to enjoy.Or just stay home by the huge pool and bask in the sun to the sound of the waves and the birds? Or chill while you enjoy the Smart TV.

Response from the owner I was delighted to read that you had a fabulous holiday in a tiny piece of paradise and that you really recommend my lovely villa. I was somewhat perplexed by your comment that it was too hot to cook in the kitchen, as there are ceiling & wall fans as well as air-conditioning. What a shame that you thought the fans in the lounge were just circulating hot air-there is usually a breeze from the sea, which wafts through the front double doors when they are open (mosquito doors prevent any unwanted mozzies, even at night) & straight through to the pool at the back. The manager was very pleased that you said you hadn't had such a laid back holiday ever, as he goes to immense trouble to ensure that everything is perfect for guests.

Response from the owner I’m sorry to hear you felt my reply lacked remorse. Kelvin did check with your mother, was assured that everything was O.K., & asked her to suggest you communicate directly with him as he is on site. I am so surprised by your response: let me help people draw their own conclusions. Kelvin checked for holes that a mouse might use & 1 has been blocked. He was pleased to learn that you ‘found the villa clean and has all the amenities as described’ (April 16), so hopefully the mouse’s appearance was a one off, though as I said in my reply to you, we can’t do anything about the fact that the tropics is teaming with wildlife. Re wifi: I explained to you that I advertised ‘wifi access’, not wifi round the pool. Our system stretches some 90’ ( from the kitchen to the lounge and into the gallery) , which is better than in many households in the U.K. You complained about poor water pressure, not useless showers. Dolphin villa has been blessed with either mains water or reserve tank water for most of the time. Once reserve tanks are in use, the water pressure is low (detailed in our information sheets). We have had the plumber check the whole system & there is nothing wrong with it. All he could think was that, as you’d said that you had been able to shower for 3-4 mins(April 20)., someone had the washing machine on at the same time. The problem has now been resolved due to heavy rain and the Water Authorities’ opening of 3 new wells. Re: beach. Kelvin did go to the trouble of accompanying you all to show you where you could swim. I told you that the beach is great for long walks and observing wild life. The water was not very calm when you were here, due to Spring tides, which mean the beaches on the Caribbean side would have been calmer that week( and vice versa at other times).I’m afraid this is not something we can control. I was especially disappointed to note your point about lack of customer service. You originally booked for 9 days, then changed it to 7, then to 5. I acceded to each request with a good grace, even though we were inundated with requests for the Jazz festival & lost a great deal of custom. You even commented that I had ‘been so flexible -we appreciate how accommodating you’ve been). I also spent many hours getting quotes for you for catering,then tracking down a caterer who would deliver, only to be told you didn’t want either. You booked a dinner for your first night, Kelvin bought in all the ingredients, marinaded the meat, only to be told less than 24 hrs before arrival, that you were cancelling. Your husband asked Kelvin to book a van for you, he went to fetch it, only to find you had booked one yourselves. All very embarrassing for Kelvin.
