The location of this mill, in the heart of rural inland Andalucia, southern Spain, is within easy reach of Granada with the Alhambra and Albaicin, Malaga, Seville and Cordoba and yet its rural situation provides a haven for wildlife and an excellent environment for walking, birdwatching or relaxing.
We offer a choice of rental properties for short breaks or longer holidays of any duration on a self-catering basis. El Cortijo is lovely old building that used to be the home of the mill owner but had been derelict for 15 years. It has now been restored, reta...Read more

Bradford, England, United Kingdomjaw droppingly beautiful, peaceful and spotless!
Left on 06/11/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We have just returned from a week away at Molino, staying in the 3 bedroomed house. We took with us two teenagers and an 11 year old. The teenagers loved the 'honesty' bar , trying their best to spend any inheritance on cokes, the 11 year old adored the library and endless supply of videos and books, and everyone loved the pool, with its spotlessly clean, no chemical water, it was totally refreshing to take a dip. Kath and andy are always available to be contacted, but never imposed themselves on us, and they were more than helpful when we did need to ask them anything. The restaurant was a lovely way to relax and enjoy good resh food in chilled surroundings, with the coffee served afterwards in the outdoor courtyard with breathtaking views of the surroundings.
We all had a wonderful time, being far enough away from everything (including roads!) while still having genuine 'Spanish' Spain (and not the touristy version) on the doorstep. Granada was a short drive (1.25 hours) and Loja was a 30 minute trek across the hill tops and well worth several visits.
If you want peace and quiet, but also something to keep those pesky kids entertained, i cant recommend this place enough. Really good value for money. -

Widnes, Cheshire"The andalusian Watermill Experience"
Left on 09/15/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We returned for a second time with friends to the idyllic Molino la Ratonera. After experiencing a first-class holiday in 2010, we decided we had to have another holiday at this impressive Watermill. This time we stayed in the 3 bedroom El Corjito and we were not disappointed. The house was decorated to the highest of standards and was fully equipped with everything you would wish for during your stay. Our friends also were delighted with the accommodation. Our hosts, Kath and andy once again provided wonderful hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble, we just had to ask. The quisine in the Mill Restaurant was once again excellent, and much appreciated by us all. The only disappointment was that our stay was not long enough ... none of us were ready to leave and could easily have stayed for another week. We would recommend a holiday at Molino la Ratonera to anyone who wants a holiday that provides peace, tranquility, good walkig territory and a high standard of accommodation with attentive hosts. Thank you Kath and andy for making our 2011 holiday a wonderful experience.

St. AlbansRelaxing, peaceful break in the hills of Spain
Left on 08/16/2011 for a stay in August 2011
Kath and andy have worked hard to create a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing holiday experience. The food was very good and all locally sourced. We loved the fact that it wasn't 'touristy' and the places we visited felt Spanish. The alhambra in Granada was amazing - well worth a visit

Northampton, United KingdomFabulous location, excellent accommodation & exemplary hospitalit
Left on 07/06/2011 for a stay in June 2011
I travelled with a group of friends and we rented all the apartments at the venue and it provided a great place to chill out with the added advantage of exclusivity.
Although we self catered during the day we ate twice at The Mill's own restaurant with the friendly owners Kath & Andy cooking and serving excellent value for money dinner with wine. We ate other other nights in various local restaurants/bars (all in easy reach) after drinks on the Mill's own bar terrace !
Great place for group booking like ours & equally good for couples, family groups of all ages with the pool and sunloungers for lazing or good base to walk from or explore the wonders of andalucia by car.
