Description from owner

Description

There are some excellent reviews from people who have stayed at this villa! It is so peaceful and relaxing and the pool is amazing to sit by either in the sun or under the umbrella - and perfect for cooling down in the hot bright sun of Cyprus.

The villa is close to a typical Cypriot village, so it's quiet and peaceful yet cultural. The Cyprus weather is wall-to-wall sunshine for the summer months and the private pool is an ideal place to spend the days relaxing. As an additional benefit there is a local restaurant - Cafe Aman - a mere 5 minutes walk away in the village square. The restaurant offers 'al fresco' dining, serving excellent traditional Cypriot food in a welcoming and warm environment. The portions are amazing - large and extremely flavoursome - and the hosts are friendly, chatty and speak English! I am so impressed by Cafe Aman that I recommend it to my guests - I visit most nights when I visit my villa.

The pool area is enhanced by trees and bushes and has sunloungers and chairs for relaxation - the trees and bushes help with shade on hot days but on rare occasions may encourage flying insects.

If you would like some time at the beach the nearest beach is just a short drive away with sunbeds, umbrellas and a kiosk for drinks and snacks plus a marina to add atmosphere! This beach - Alaminos Paradise Beach - is calm and relaxing and is primarily a family beach with a shallow entry to the water and wonderful vistas of the coastline and Marina. It is a 20 minute drive to Larnaca city centre, which has a wonderful beach-side bar scene with a strong family appeal late into the evening. There are lots of restaurants serving a traditional Cypriot menu as well as fresh sea food with views directly overlooking the water.

The south coast road gives amazing sea views and an hour's drive to the west takes you to the Troodos mountain range that runs through the middle of Cyprus. The scenic driving routes pass through old Cypriot styled villages and a drive at sunset gives incredible views.

Cyprus is an area of high summer temperatures, often accompanied by a sea breeze, and light protective clothing is recommended together with plenty of sun protection cream. The villa is fully air conditioned but each room has a fly screen which allows the windows to be left open and a fresh flow of air into the villa day and night.

A welcome pack with additional details about the area and places to visit is in the villa. There are leaflets about various areas and attractions as well as maps of Cyprus to aid your exploration.

The island has thousands of years of history and there are plenty of fascinating ruins to visit, both locally and further afield. Kourion is an amazing and fascinating hill top Roman ruin site 45 - 60 minute drive away and close to a blue sandy beach with restaurants close by.

A small food hamper consisting of bread, milk, butter, tea, coffee and a selection of other basics foods will be in the villa awaiting your arrival.

Getting around

The best way to get around is to have a hire car - rental cars operate out of Larnaca airport and offer competitive rates. There is also a bus service to Larnaca which leaves from the village square. Buses also go to Limassol - the drivers are very friendly and helpful and speak English!

Interaction with guest

The keys to the villa are in a key safe by the front door which allows easy access to the villa on arrival. The pool is cleaned every few days to maintain a pristine clear blue cooling off area in the heat of the day. There are leaflets and books about the surrounding area inside the villa, in the living room and this will help you plan your trips out and about. I highly recommend the beach at Alaminos, the camel park and Kourion for wonderful days out and nearby Lefkara is a beautiful village to visit

“Perfect retreat”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2013

Siyabona Villa provided us with the perfect retreat in the lovely village of Anafotida. The villa has everything you need to make it the perfect home from home and extra touches of quality to make this a great place to stay. Anafotida is a very peaceful village and the perfect getaway, but is close enough to Larnaca, beaches and other larger villages to give access to any type of holiday experience you could want.

“Excellent property with pool”

Reviewed 17 Jul 2013

We had a lovely holiday at this villa. The villa is very comfortable, spacious and modern and is very well equipped complete with DVD player and quite a few DVDs. My teenagers watched a whole series of Friends while we were there. The pool was also great - lovely way to cool down. There are 3 sunshades to keep you cool around the pool. Also lots of places to visit nearby but you do need a car. The village is small but nice and you can get great meals at Cafe Aman in the village. We would go back and recommend to others.

“Fabulous relaxing stay”

Reviewed 20 Mar 2013

We had a fabulous relaxing time in this lovely quiet villa on the edge of the pretty village. The location is peaceful, yet walking distance to all local amenities. The pool is perfect for escaping the heat of the sunshine, and sampling the simple but very tasty home cooked Greek food at the Cafe Aman after a days sightseeing or relaxing by the pool is a must! We had a car which meant we could easily explore the surrounding area, made even easier given that Cyrpus drives on the left too! The villa is also ideally placed for walking and cycling taking you through some beautiful countryside. This was my 5th time to Cyprus and we would definitely come back again.

“Space Space and more space”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2012

Spent two lovely weeks in Siyabona villa with my husband and teenage daughters. Unbelievably spacious with the added luxury of en suite bathrooms Especially for the girls. The supermarket, butchers, and a cafe within walking distance you don't need to go anywhere else. Anafotida itself is a small village but a short drive will take you to the motorway for Larnaca, Limassol and Nicosia. A car is recommended for sight seeing. Nearby villages to visit are Skarinou and Lefkara. The villa itself had everything you could ask for even a bar b q. The sun hits the villa all day but when too hot ,the pool is 2 feet away. Well kept and clean. Would come again
