Barneys Cottage is a modern traditional Mourne building. Located in the grounds of a Grade 2 listed building, it is peaceful, private and beautiful. The kitchen and lounge is spacious with a stove sitting in the corner for burning logs and traditional Irish turf. The Downstairs bathroom/wetroom has full wheelchair access. The location is convenient to the historic harbour, seafront, Mourne Mountains and coastal walks.

The Mourne Mountains and its surrounding area provide every outdoor activity from hill walking, rock climbing, horse riding, fishing and golf. The perfect holiday location for the outdoor enthusiast or just a quiet getaway.A good base for discovering the magic of the Mourne Mountains . The popular resort of Newcastle is located just 20mins away, where Slieve Donard really does 'sweep down to the sea'.

Newcastle offers family fun, picturesque surroundings of mountain and beach and of course the Championship golf course Royal County Down Golf Course. Outstanding Natural Beauty and will not disappoint visitors interested in the natural environment, built heritage and wonderful scenery.

The coastline around county down is dotted with amazing Golf Courses. Ardglass Golf Club, Kilkeel Golf Club, Bright Golf Club, Mourne Golf Club and the amazing Royal County Down Golf Club.

Cottage in a great place, grandchildren loved the space to play outside and take their wee dog down lane to shore for a walk.Exceptionally clean and cosy.Would recommend.

“Perfect, peaceful stay ”

We loved our stay at barneys cottage, facilities were spotless and excellent for our needs. Easy walk to the beach and harbour and we loved a walk along the farm path in the evenings. Neighbours and farmers all so friendly.

Stunning location. Plenty to do between the mountains and the sea. Houses very comfortable and make for a lovely family break. Will definitely be back.

Barneys Cottage was just perfect. Spotless and perfectly equipped. Everything was so comfortable and homely. Best of quality and we had everything we needed. The play area for the children was great and the fact that it had a safety gate was a big plus with the busy lane so close. Even though the living area is all combined with the kitchen and dining we found it cosy and homely. The beds are so comfy and the bedding top quality.
