Description

he home was build in 2014, and is located in Floahreppur, which is like the gateway to all main
attractions in South Iceland. It is located off state-road 30, just 2,3 km north off Interstate 1, on
a peaceful gated private land. The home is also close to the Golden Circle, and many other attractions.

The home has three bedrooms, two bedrooms are with two single beds, and one bedroom with a double bed . All beds are with highest quality of mattresses and ready made eiderdown duvets, all bedrooms have a light eliminating window-rollers. One bathroom with a shower, high standard bathtowels-handtowels-washcloths and a hairdryer.

The home has a TV, satelite TV, DVD, CD,radio and internet access.

The dining table can seat upto 8 people, which is open to the kitchen which makes all serving very easy.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a large American fridge( fridge/freezer/icemaker/running water)
dishwasher, full size stove, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, big toaster, blender, dishes, glasses, pots/pans utensils,silverware etc. Please let us know if you would need a baby high chair and/or pack ´n´play (babybed)it is complimentary.

In the hallway is a washer and dryer, so you can go home with a suitcase full of clean clothes, there you can also find iron and ironing board.

The patio has a big stainless steal BBQ, and outdoor furnitures.
After a long day out, just to sit back and relax with a glass of wine on the patio and enjoy the view. The highlight is of course, your beautiful scenery with a spectacular view. During the winter time watching the Aurora Borealis-is just breathtaking.

“Great base for exploring the golden triangle”

We were travelling with two young kids so we were not looking to be on the move each day to tour around the island. Instead we were looking for an economical and well appointed cottage to serve as a base for day trips to the area attractions. The Icelandic Cottages were the perfect spot for us to use as a base as it was less than an hour to Fludir (Secret lagoon), Geysir, and just over an hour to Gulfoss. It was also close to Selfoss which was a perfect place to do shopping, grab a bite to eat and take advantage of the child friendly outdoor pool. Reykjavik wasn't far either at just over an hour and a little further out one could venture to some of the parks, glaciers etc. We really enjoyed our stay and what made it even better was the exceptional hospitality shown by Rosa, the owner. The directions made it easy to find, even in the short winter days, and she had done a great job of designing the cottage with flexibility for couples, groups or families. She was also very responsive when we had questions about appliances etc. and was proactive in picking up some dish ware and a couple of stuffed animals for the kids! The cottage itself had all you could imagine including mugs in the freezer to keep your beer cold, blender/whizzer for smoothies or baby food, all the dish ware, cutlery etc. you could expect to use and even some staples such as coffee, tea, olive oil, spices, salt and pepper. The view was quite impressive, especially once the snow arrived and it seemed like a good spot to see the Aurora Borealis, even if we didn't manage to catch it. We would definitely come back to Icelandic Cottages so we could do some more exploring.
