Description
Just 17 miles south of Norwich, nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of Great Ellingham, Peter and Jo welcome you to The Bakehouse; a ground-floor cottage which sleeps four, with 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin), a large kitchen/diner, a spacious, vaulted lounge, shower room and separate wc. We can also provide a cot.
All linen and towels are provided and we offer you a welcome pack for those handy essentials which you might have been too busy to pack!Spend summer evenings in the courtyard garden entertaining family or friends with a barbecue, or cosy up to the wood-burning stove on winter nights.
Try out the excellent local gastro-pub, just 100 yards away, where you'll receive a warm welcome from William and his team and the chance to sample some excellent beers, wines and local produce.
Snetterton racing circuit is less than 5 miles away and we have plenty of parking for trailers etc.The attractive town of Attleborough is just 2 miles away with its quaint cafes, restaurants and bustling weekly market. You'll be spoilt for choice with the multitude of things to do in the area. From walking or cycling in nearby Brandon Country Park or Thetford Forest, to exploring the exciting and medieval town of Norwich with its shops, restaurants, Cathedral and Castle, you won't have a bored moment. For young children try The Dinosaur Park, Banham Zoo and Adventure playgrounds a short drive away. Older children might prefer Go Ape, a high-wire adventure, or Combat Paintball. For the gardening enthusiast visit Peter Beales Rose Garden, or for the fisherman, there is a well-stocked lake within 100 yards of The Bakehouse. The beautiful Norfolk coast-line is easily accessible or why not take a trip on the Norfolk Broads many water-ways.
All in all, you'll have a warm welcome and a wonderful stay with us in peace and tranquility, waking every morning to the sound of birdsong with nothing more pressing to do than to work out where to go next for entertainment and adventure!

“Great place to stay and explore region”
Joanne was warm and welcoming even though we arrived in heavy rain - she even offer to help us with our bags! Really lovely place to stay. Comfortable beds, lovely roomy shower, plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits left for us as well as milk. If it had been warmer weather we would have enjoyed sitting in the garden and using the BBQ. The village pub, The Crown, is well worth a visit. Lovely food and great atmosphere.

“Peacefulness in beautiful Surroundings”
The Bakehouse accommodation was wonderful. The owners had thought about everything and the kitchen has everything you need. It was spotless(probably the cleanest place we have ever been). The owners are lovely and very helpful. A good base to explore Norfolk. The garden space was lovely in the sunshine. Can’t rate this property enough, would give 10/10.
