Description from owner

Description

This charming bush cabin was originally constructed in the 1860s by a timber feller on the outskirts of Melbourne. The building was dismantled and painstakingly reassembled in Beechworth between 2004 and 2007. It has been carefully restored to its former glory and has retained the atmosphere of a simple 19th-century settlers' hut, without skimping on 21st-century luxuries. 1860 Luxury Accommodation is full of character; the decor is simple yet elegant and every effort has been made to provide everything you could possibly need for a stylish self-catering stay. With an open fire, double bath, leather lounge, king sized bed and full kitchen, 1860 overlooks Spring Creek and the surrounding parklands of Lake Sambell. To see more detail about 1860, its history, media reviews & things to do in Beechworth go to our website by searching for 1860 Luxury Accommodation. In 2011, 1860 won the Shire of Indigo Award for the most environmentally sustainable business. It was rebuilt using traditional methods to maintain the integrity and historic value of the building. Virtually all the materials used in the construction of the building have been salvaged, recycled or converted from another use. For example, the coffee table is a converted set of Blacksmith bellows and a real feature of the living room. 1860 is a five minute stroll into the historic goldrush town of Beechworth with renowned restaurants, great coffee shops & cafes, shopping and boutique wines. To explore beautiful landscapes and gold rush architecture, the rail trail cycling path is at your door and the perfect way to discover the charms of Beechworth. We offer single night stays Monday to Thursday only.
