Description
Villa Buonavista is a wonderfully situated villa with panoramic views of the Calabrian coast, Tyrrhenian Sea and, on a clear day, two volcanoes: Stromboli on one of the Aeolian islands and Etna on the island of Sicily.
It consists of 2 units: Regastili and Fiori and can be rented as the whole or each unit separately.
Situated away from the hustle and bustle of the beach and towns, you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the terraces with a good book or fall asleep to the sound of breaking waves far below. But Calabria is not just about peace and quiet; there are many interesting medieval villages to explore in the area, boat excursions to the Aeolian Islands where you can swim in the warm waters near an active volcano and mountain biking in the hills behind Belmonte. Or just spend a lazy day at one of the many beaches. As the sea is beautifully clear, there are excellent snorkeling opportunities to observe the plentiful marine life.
The nearest major town is Amantea (about 10 minutes away by car), where a daily market offers a wonderful selection of fresh seafood and local farm produce.
The openness and friendliness of the locals- whether you speak Italian or not – is unforgettable!
If you enjoy cooking, the houses include well-equipped kitchens to try your hand at preparing some of the local Calabrian dishes or, for the more adventurous, a wood fired oven outside provides the opportunity to try your hand at making your own traditional pizza.
Calabria is an excellent winter retreat for those fleeing the cold weather. With over 300 sunny days per year, it boasts the fewest rainy days in all of Italy.
